They'd have to add double the coconut for that version.

    But that would be nuts...

Fun fact-When an allergist tests a person for nut allergies, coconut is one of the “nuts” for which they test.

Packaging also lists coconut as a tree nut in terms of allergens, despite it not being one.

Stopped by yesterday and had a great time as I always do there for releases.

Another awesome year for regular DT, they've really got it dialed in over the past 3-4 years. One of the best non-adjuncted BA stouts in the city.

Cafe is very good but maybe I'm just used to Supermassive at this point cause Cafe didn't blow me away the way it usually does.

Raspberry was delicious, the raspberries really shine, almost to the point of it being too much and covering other flavors up. We got a second pour though but didn't end up with a 4 pack.

The Weller single barrel was our beer of the night, delicious stuff.

And obviously, the snifters are beautiful.

GReat stuff from Rev as always!

Regular Deth was great, I really was taken by how good it was. Especially alongside the Weller, the blending skill that brought out more balance and nuance really shone. I was most excited for the Razzle, but couldn't get into it. The flavors just didn't seem to come together. Weller was awesome, but I'm glad I only got a little taste of it.

Also, Working Man Mild is great. I think I'm going to need to get back to buy some cans again soon. Great to see a mild in package.

Unfortunately I missed out on the Coco-nut Deth, but got to try the other two.

Razz from LA Guns is a mess. Thin, under-carbonated, over sweet, conflicting flavors. I was not a fan.

VSOD Weller was great. Huge barrel flavor, smooth, boozy, with a perfect hit of dryness on the backend.

Razzle was an interesting failure. The coffee & raspberry notes clashed more than they meshed.

VSOD Weller was a real treat; sweet chocolate notes with enough wood & bourbon accents to make a great balance.

Coconut Deth tasted like sadness, since I didn't get any.

Just got back from the brewery. Tried Weller VSOD, Deth by Raspberries, and Razzle. Weller VSOD was awesome. Went back for seconds and thirds of that. Really rich and complex layered flavors. Razzle was meh. I think my second least favorite one off aside from that walnut one from a few years ago. Raspberries was fantastic on tap. Picked up the mixed Working Man/Woman 4 pack along with the new Deths Tar artwork hoodie. It's really nice but a lighter weight material if anyone is on the fence

While most of y'all are discussing the recent Deep Wood Series, I got comped (?) a free (?!) can from someone @FBarber knows out of the blue, a Rev Working Man Mild. God I love this beer.
You can have the diabetes stouts (I tease, I'm just envious), but this beer is so great.
    Cheers!

I'm irrationally angry @FBarber -- in the New Beer thread, he's all "I hate coconut beers but Coconut Deth is amazing haha" while I'm sitting here loving coconut beers and I missed it by an hour.

I'm looking forward to the official can release next year when he's like "these cans are trash, sorry if you missed out on the manna from heaven that was the draft version last year".

    TL;DR: @GuyFawkes is insane.

LOL, at least I didn't say I hated it and drained poured it. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Obviously! the super limited draft version that I got and you didn't is always the best version.

I’d like to think that on Halloween, Guy forgoes the candy and hands out cans of Deep Wood to trick or treaters.

Of all the things noted above, the only lasting thing I'll take away is "people can be allergic to coconut?" I mean - Damn, I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy

Last night it got down to a cool 45 degrees. Rev has had their first BA release, and Prop Day just opened. It's clear that that stout season is among us. In honor of Rev's devotion to quality, @ChicagoJ 's love for Rev, and @GuyFawkes ability and desire to dome BA Deepwoods Crowlers, I couldn't help but post this as it perfectly captures our collective feelings each year.

I wasn't as impressed by Working Woman in the combo pack. But would buy the hell out of Working Man if readily available in my area

I wish Working Woman had been a British Brown Ale rather than an American Brown Ale.

Too hoppy for me to truly love. Wasn't bad, but I'm leaning more toward 'traditional' styles these days.
