What does it typically take to land one of these? It pretty much sounds like my dream beer so I'd kill to score a bottle (or two!:grimacing:).

I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain it was last brewed in '07. Anybody feel free to chime in if I'm wrong on that. But I think it may be a particularly tough beer to land. Have a sample list of what you're willing to give up for it?

Need a time machine. Have a 2004 and a 2007 in the cellar that I didn't have to trade my first born for. Keep floating ISOs in the Trading Forum, someone will eventually fill the need. Good luck.

Isn't it an odd-sized bottle too? Something like 185 mL??

Yeah, I knew it was something weird like that. Best of luck OP, not sure you're going to want to give up the bottles you might need to for 6oz lol

That, I have no idea. I guess it'd be a good idea to look into it

Would be awesome if they've brewed it again. I was lucky enough to try it on tap about a year and a half ago and it was phenomenal, but bottles FT seem really hard and/or expensive to come by.

Additionally, if this hasn't been brewed since 2007, why is it not considered 'retired' here on BA?

Is it one of those Dirty Horse type situations? God I hate those...

I'm not sure you have the ammo to pull off a trade for it. Maybe if you find a generous BA..maybe. I think a better option is to try and find someone with it and try and get in on a bottle share with them and expect to bring some good bottles.

As for the status of it not being listed as "retired", who knows! Maybe it will be brewed again. Who knows!

If you don't mind, where did you hear about this?

Only reason I ask is because they've had raspberry eisbock listed as a winter seasonal for years and it hasn't been brewed since '07

Yeah, just looked at it after I saw your post. That would be interesting if they do bring it back. Might swing out there for a day if they do. Except probably not, the day after my birthday. I'll be far too hungover to drive to warren

I'd be interested to see the bottle count/limit if they do bring it back.

It's on the tentative list of bottles that are suppose to be available. With Kuhnhenn, they could forget to bottle it, forget to bring it in from the back, not like the product and pour it out...who knows.

I stopped at Kuhnhenn on the way home from a trip to NW Wisconsin in May and was fortunate enough to meet Mr. Kuhnhenn and one of his sons. It was quite the experience. We cracked a ton of bottles that night, both mine and theirs, including the likes of Bourbon County Rare, Vanilla, King Henry, 100% BA Cuir, their BBBW, BA4D, Chocolate Pumpkin Braggot, and a slough of others. Towards the end of the evening, senior pulled out what he declared was the last bottle of 2007 Raspberry Mead they had under the roof. I'd never had it before, and have never had anything like it since. I'm hoping it wasn't the first and only time I ever get to enjoy such a treat, as it's one of the best alcoholic beverages I've ever consumed.

They have had this on their brewing board since spring. I believe it is getting made and they just might have it at Winter Solstice next week but honestly I don't even think they really know if it will be ready.
