Fox Farm Brewery (2021)

Gotta be honest: For me, 14% is too big. Too sweet. I didn’t enjoy this one last year (and it’s also the reason I’m slightly reserved about opening the Baltic Porter hanging out in the basement).

 

Maybe I'm just missing the obvious but what size are their bottles, 500 or 750ml?

 

Last year they were 500mL ... Actually a perfect size for a 14% beer especially if you're sharing. 8 oz is about all you need of it.

 

Darker beers are often 500ml while farmhouse ales are usually 750

I hadn't thought about that, but that's a good callout. I believe last October was the last time they released it. Under the radar beer, but one that I really enjoyed and would gladly buy again.

I will admit the fresh bottles I had (Black and regular) were not quite as good as the high standards I usually set with FF. But certainly want to try both again this year with my leftover bottles from 2020. Especially since I see the ABV has changed from 13.6% last year to 15.2% this year. Am thinking there will be some noticeable differences in this year's batch, hopefully for the better and being FF that is my expectation.

I knew I should have gone the proxy route when it was released.

 

They had The Cabin early October and IMO it was just as good as The Camp

Just picked up my Triolet / Witch Meadow orders. Glad I ordered when I did.

Side question - acceptable or d-bag move to place two orders for limited releases, one under my name and one under my wife's? She goes with me to pick it up, but I always feel a little dirty. If this is generally considered a d-bag move, would be good to know. I don't want to be "that guy" without realizing it.
