Finally tried Kentucky Cousin... It is not my thing. The flavor blending feels like they executed really well because you can pick out the elements yet nothing overwhelms. All very smooth. I just didn't care for the sum of the parts.

The cherry seemed particularly well done, and I can imagine many many beers where this exact cherry addition would be a home run.

Finally got my bottle of Still Black Tuesday here (got stuck in limbo via some trustee pickup snafus all year). It's nice to taste BT without the barrel influence. While I miss the bourbon, there is a nice, smooth oak influence from the french oak puncheons. Some slight, tart oxidation. Easy evening sipper.

Got my BT Flight tickets tonight! Going to put together a 20’s style costume for the visit! Wish I had a flapper hat!

Did the Bruery give a reason why there is no BT event this year? They had an anniversary party earlier this year so I can’t be COVID. Also did anyone receive their 2021 glassware yet?

Opened up a 19 BTGR and it's great. Still boozy AF but not harsh. I had noted the body as "watery" when I had it originally, but not now. Really nice soft creaminess without being thick or heavy; improved in my book.

All the adjuncted stuff is fun... But I gotta say (again) if they just started doing tons of barrel variants for BT, Ani, and maybe even White Oak Sap, I would buy the shit out of all of it.

I can't speak for CA, but DC is having a Black Tuesday event. As for your second question, I picked up my cellar beers Saturday and I did not receive my glassware, so no glasses given out in DC to date.

Yeah I don't put much stock in the write ups... I think they just BS based on what they read on the label.

The phrasing is definitely weird, but I read it as they left some of this year's batch in for an extra year.

Hmm, that's weird...I thought longer aging usually increased ABV?

Unless the section of barrels they held back got held back in part because of lower ABV? I wonder if that indicates lower extraction from the barrels?

Chaucer’s Chalice: will be better with a year or more on it. Tasty as is but the bourbon is a bit off-putting in conjunction with the sweet honey. I can see that all melding well with time.

When Etain Red Wine BA came out I FOMO'd a few bottles... and the first bottle I actually tried was really underwhelming (NOOB syndrome).

Well, I don't know if my tastes have changed or if it's developed well, but it's really quite enjoyable now. Pretty unique compared to the various spirits barrel versions of Ani: the wine character is really forward and complements without overwhelming.

My interest in the BT/Napa hybrids is definitely waning (tasty, but $$$$)... I'd be curious to see that process applied to Ani though.

The first time I had red wine Etain I thought it tasted like Gratitude circa 2007. I bought up a bunch of it.

Has anyone done the BT Flights yet? How are they? Did you do both at once? If so, what ditch did you wake up in? Has anyone dressed up for it?
