    Good morning all Advocates!
    Very busy working week...
    Today too...
Frantic life and work to be managed in the best possible way...
In this short time, I'll put the beer I drank yesterday during a quick break.

Rock Brewery (Brolo, Sicilia, ITA) - PORTER XMAS EDITION - Porter with Habanero chilli chocolate (5.1%).

33 cl bottle (€ 5), purchased in the 2020 winter season, deadline 10/2023.
Just uncorked immediately spicy and roasted aromas.
Poured is black with dark brown highlights.
Beautiful abundant and soft, creamy foam.
In the mouth very smooth and drinkable body, even if with a slightly more consolidated structure than a standard English Porter.
Taste characterized by a lively, but not at all exaggerated, spiciness given by the chilli that integrates well with the predominantly dark chocolate notes supported by delicate notes of toasted malt.
The chili pepper gives that extra touch of liveliness and also remains pleasantly on the tongue, while on the palate the notes of dark chocolate predominate.
    Clean, dry and very balanced.
Even after almost a year, it has not lost its characteristics at all and has remained very tasty and in shape both in the nose and in appearance.

Good day BAS! Thanks @Jack_14 for starting today's thread! I always enjoy your reviews of brews I'll probably never find.
Today is starting out scheduled to be sunny and "warm" - last chance to mow my yard before we take off to TX:

Today's New Breakfast Beer is another delicious CT brew from @Roy_Hobbs in NBS BIF #14:

Decent oatmeal stout - 4.13, rDev -1%. Thanks Ross! I'm slowly chipping away at the MASSIVE stash of beer with which you hit me. Are there any brews left in CT?

My lovely bride and I had a minor dispute the other night, so she stormed of to bed. I went upstairs later to make nice-nice, she turned off the movie we had been watching and put on some cooking show where the host was making Polish Goulash, something she'd be loathe to try. I found the show, and hence tonights dinner will be, POLISH GOULASH! Not my favorite beer from Half Acre.
Hopefully, that'll keep her from watching cooking shows with me. As that great American philosopher once said, enjoy what's in your glass. Time to clean up the kitchen!

a blurry lord chesterfield with an ok chicken cheesesteak.

no work today because I woke up baby had a bad fever. Monitored it until it went away. 4 hours late to work I finally get there and I put it in park and the shifter breaks. I mess with it until I get it back in drive. And drive home. Called out. Oh well. One more day work then off 4 days so hopefully get it situated. It’s either the shift cable or the neutral safety switch. So a $20 fix. Or a $200 fix. See what happens.

Back from visiting with the kids and grandkids. We had a great time, but I'm exhausted. Taking it easy today, sipping some "coffee."

Short work day today. Gonna start the post-work with this beer I bought along with my malt liquors for the tasting. It's a lager at 6.5% but listed as a European pale here. No worries, as it also ensures I have an India tick (which I might already have, so I'll just reinforce it).

It's not very good to me - too sweet in a more sugary way than I think a beer should be. Most of the malt liquors were as good or better.

Good evening everyone. Not like you guys were actually worried :grinning: but I’m stopping by to say hi and tell you all I am still alive and well. On my own I have decided to really lay off beer for some months. It’s been ten days of sobriety.

No illness or anything to speak of, only a break and “dry spell” as it’s called.

Hope you all are still doing great. I’d like to post a beer or two around Christmas and the Holidays season.

    Cheers.

Thanks for stopping by with an update @Shanex ! I always enjoy beer, but moderation works for me (mostly 1 beer a day beyond going out for social engagements / bar brewery visits). Hope all continues to work well for you.

Almost done with my DIY Adjunct Cellar Tasting of a 2020 Deth's Tar coupled with a Mounds Bar.

Full review in Cellar Review thread. Bottom line, the beer is glorious, the Mounds Bar cranked it up from 10 to 11.

And that is the lowdown for today, Thursday, October 28th, a rainy day in the city I'll love until the day I die.
