I thought Raspberries was a little too sweet and fruity. Not enough stout or barrel, and the body was thin.

5oz taster was perfect, but if I bought a 4-pack, I’d never drink the other 3 cans.

    Here comes another Revolution rant...

2021 Deth Tar. This mother F is delicious. Dark chocolate base stout balanced nicely with smooth bourbon. But here is the best part... HUGE tobacco and leather that really amps up the complexity of this barrel aged stout and makes it unique.

I think this is my favorite part about the yearly batch of Deth Tar. Every single year is totaly different and its always an interesting / complex bourbon barrel aged oatmeal stout. Revolution likes to keep you guessing. You just don't know what's going to happen! Last year batch was really deep, rich, sweet, and smooth bourbon with balanced milk chocolate when you had a pour of Deth Tar. This year it has a really nice dark chocolate note with a complex tobacco & leather thing going on that is really interesting and makes me want to empty my wallet. Never tasted that before in Deth Tar and I have said that the last few years in a row. Revolution, thanks for continually changing it up and showing the diversity of what a great oatmeal stout base beer can be with the influence of all the right barrels purposefully aged and blend by "JEDI masters" from the Revolution barrel program. Every single year Deth Tar is easily one of the barrel aged best oatmeal stouts in America. It never gets old because they make such unique vintages of this oatmeal stout every single year. You keep surprising your fan club.

Anyone else think the new Deth's Tar design looks, uh, very "inspired" by Dark Lord?

that seems like an absolute pain in the ass to drink a beverage out of.

Yea. I felt like an Asshole quoting the release post, because I love @BeerCruncher and everything he does on this forum, as well as what Rev puts out, but...Man. What an unusual shape for a stout glass. (Someone may say it doesn't have to be for that, but given the art one would assume most people probably will purchase it for that.)

I wonder how many people have a glass like that or use one? I can't imagine very many. Just seems like an odd choice, and no matter how much I like the art, I don't think I'd ever buy that shape.

I have a few similar to it - its essentially a German pokal.

Our local Magic City uses that glass shape for draft, but only for slushy sours. It's fine to showcase the wild colors with that sort of elevated pedestal, but other than that, I can't imagine it's helpful for aroma.

Bierstadt's Slow Pour Pils is usually poured in a glass of similar shape, but I think it's skinnier and taller, and more intended to encourage a towering wobbly head I think than anything else.

I have 2 of them from de Garde and Goldfinger. Every time I try to use one it's like drinking from the glass top of an old oil lantern and just as delicate. Easy to knock over despite the foot, relatively thin given the tall shape, and nothing for head or aroma retention. Works great for collecting dust.

What I hear you (and everyone else) saying is that this should become the default glass for all beer festivals. :stuck_out_tongue:

Those glasses are obviously for the secret, yet to be released Cocunut Maple Vanilla Cafe Deth seltzer smoothy which we all know @BeerCruncher is the biggest fan of. But I do think they're pretty interesting. I don't have any glasses like that and it has the full new logo on it. I'm firmly in team stemless glassware but I'm definitely going to buy this.
