I'd say a trifecta of normal Old Swill + hot beer + handling. Given how many my dads friend put away, I'd guess the 12pk not more than 3 days from purchase, but I don't really know. At least it was only a 12pk, so that should've lessened the duration of that fine aging experiment!

To be fair, if you are someone who likes beer, but not enough to seek out beer beyond their normal shopping routine, then stone is likely some of the best beer you have access too

i concur along with Firestone, lagunitas etc. I never said it was bad. Never said stone was bad beer just labeled it as grocery store dad beer. Take that for what it’s worth. As I said most of my friends are that way.

    ha! Great story!

I concur OG stone like DB, Levitation, porter etc we’re great and probably would still be great. They just have become an ipa factory and not offering anything that really interests me.

Yep, I think if anything stone has become more relevant to more people. The grocery store buyer still isn't super interested in smoked porter or big barleywine. Stone traded is beer needs for grocery store dads and probably increased their bottom line in the process

Possibly but they don’t seem like they are doing that great financially. I don’t have any data or any financial info but they seem like they are struggling to maintain their current business model.

60+1.9. Since 15, me and my buds always drank Lowenbrau, Michelob, or imports. Of course we had Coors/Bud/Miller back in the day. But only when at a party and we had no choice or scrounging around for change. Stone didnt come into play for me until the mid/late 2000's. Traveling international I was able to appreciate good imports like Budvar/Chekvar and german beer and others. I can thank Stone for getting me into the American craft scene. But as time moves on so do I. I think for a lot of newbies out there. Stone is still a must try at least. Sure you have PP, Lagunitas SN and the others. But Stone still has a mark in the craft world, IMO.

Was about to post something about not seeing much evidence of that within the US, then @bla211 hits us with the breaking news and... is stone's current business model closing satellite locations and filing frivolous lawsuits?

My experience with Old Milwaukee has always been positive. Probably because it was there cheapest beer when I first immigrated. I remember then wife bringing home a 6 pack of Old Milwaukee Ice..for $1.99 It was fantastic at the he time in our lousy boarded up duplex in Hapeville GA..circa 1992.
That beer never made it. But I liked regular OM..made a change from 40s of OE and St.Ides

Just chatted with my buddy John who lives/works in Napa. His comment: Stone is probly done there but as far as he can tell the mothership in SD is still rockin' and healthy for lack of a better word.

If there's ever a BA movie this is a line in it. The character playing @Jason is probably the one that says it. It probably is key to the building of the site

I don't know, I probably go with the landlord based on this pair of statements:

Technically both things are probably true.
