I make one comment about my peanut allergy and they release a PB beer like 4 days later. Son of a

I had a personal policy of not buying beer from small-ish breweries that also make a PB beer. Guess I’ll have to consider bending that rule now for Rev because Deep Woods is my go to

Contamination. I loved peanuts and peanut butter until magically in my 20’s I just couldn’t have them anymore.

but I trust Rev more than some others. Most of the ones I avoid are much smaller and had nothing I “had to have”

Have you ever had a contamination incident with beer? Not suggesting that you should not be cautious (I am a fellow death by peanut/tree individual), but just curious. I am also allergic to all seafood. I have never had an incident with contaminated beer, but many times with food. In general, seafood is easier to avoid than nuts, but hardly anyone uses peanut oil anymore, so nuts aren’t too bad to avoid now either. The places I find issues are usually with salads, where you ask them to make the cranberry, goat cheese, pine nut and walnut salad WITHOUT walnuts. I usually just avoid these items because people are incompetent, and when they catch their mistake they just remove them instead of making a new salad. (Almost died in Asheville several years ago because of this.) Now, it almost seems like seafood can be tougher to avoid, but only at specific restaurants/regions, like sushi places. I can tell with one bite how clean they are. (Seafood also inducers anaphylaxis for me, but it is not as severe of an allergy as nuts, so I can tell if there was cross contamination with seafood without it sending me to the hospital. Now if someone blindfolded me and fed me a bite of tuna, that would be a different story.)

The last 15 or so posts have been pretty fantastic! Keep up the good banter! It is an excellent read!

no, I haven’t. I agree on restaurants and the times I’ve eaten at Rev have been fine too. My post was sort of tongue in cheek because I know I won’t stop drinking Deep Woods. I’m not actually that worried about it

had another DB Raspberries last night. I understand why some won’t like it but I really enjoy it.

CCB released the same glass for El Cat members in July. I'm not a big fan, but it's at least different that most anything out there.

ive kept various ba and non ba stouts on for as long as 6 months with no drop off. I’ve also taken stouts off tap and stored cold for months before putting back on tap with zero issue

I have no experience with kegs at home but know they store extremely well from what I've heard from industry folks. I would send an email to the Rev folks and ask any questions you may have and I'll bet they'll get you an answer.

When do they announce the preview parties? We were supposed to get one the last release down here in Blo/No but a few days before it disappeared so hoping we do get one, my choice would be December but any would do.

You can tell this in the Chicago area since the added an "s" onto Deep Wood.
It's like how grandma pronounces the grocery stores: "the Jewels" or "the Meijers":wink:

Typically I see the Deep Wood preview parties first announced by the hosting venues 1-3 weeks in advance, then by Revolution 1-2 weeks in advance.
So, look for something basically anytime. :grinning:

Better than BCBS release details at any place I have ever tried to purchase from. They always tell me to check back the day before, even if it was 2 days before.

The Revolution Taproom allows you to bring in food.
Most of the restaurants are north of it. Clustered around Addison & Kedzie. There is a vast choice: As large as Little Caesars, Portillo's, and White Castle; and diminishing in size to Sfera Sicilian, El Ranchito Gourmet, Burrito House, and El Potosi. This should not be problematic.

When I lived in Michigan it was always Meijers to everyone I knew. When I moved here no one knew what it was, but then the store showed up the past year or two and people started saying they were going to check out Meijer and I was like huh? What's that?

But it's funny you point that out because until now I honestly never realized it was Wood not Woods. That one's just a mind trick because deep woods is a common phrase.
