Great Notion (2021)

Completely agree. I still remember all the hype surrounding this beer when it was initially released a few years back. Christ, I even took off from work early so I could try it on tap over at Belmont Station.

While not awful, my reaction was exactly the same as yours. That being said, they continue to put it out each year, and it seems to sell well enough. Must be someone that likes it.

 

GN beers can be hit and miss in my experience, but there's no denying that their art work is first rate.

Californ-i-a!

Things are heating up south of the Oregon border, and our newest GN location is almost up and running in Sacramento! We have saved some of our choicest brews to stock our CA fulfillment center, and come next week our Cali fans can finally get their hands on them. We will be shipping anywhere in CA - starting with a soft launch early next week - with Sacramento local delivery and pickup following shortly thereafter. We are still on the hunt for a Sac taproom location, but we are stoked to finally - FINALLY - get cans in CA hands. Be on the lookout for news on the specifics on Monday on our IG page!



App Update

Heads up - the latest version of our app is going live concurrent with the California launch, so make sure to update when prompted so that you don't run into any issues come drop time. The new release will introduce new filters to more easily find the beer near you, more clarity with shipping limits, and greater speed and stability as you navigate through the app. More fun fresh features are already in the works, and we can't wait to share what we have been cooking up!

Brave Noise

A collaboration with a big goal: a safe and discrimination-free beer industry. We brewed this sessionable hazy pale ale in partnership with Brave Noise Beer (you can follow on IG @bravenoisebeer), advocating for safe spaces and inclusive environments by requesting breweries be transparent with their policies and commit to long-term work. Proceeds from this beer will be donated to a local org working to fight sexual violence in our communities.


Mellifluous 5 (Fruit Punch)
(6% abv) $25/4pack
Sloooow down and let the good vibes flow. We’re punching up the fruit with a fruit-punch-inspired blend of pineapple, guava, passion fruit, orange, apricot, apple, and papaya in the fifth installment of Mellifluous.

The GN facebook trading group are getting very excited about the upcoming release, with the hype train full speed ahead. However, there's no mention of any actual release date referenced yet.

 

Could be, but last time the excitement seemed to be due to the perceived secondary value of the beer. It was GN's first ba stout, and the trading group was convinced they were going to be able to make a killing. Didn't work out that way, as the beer turned out to be "not all that." This time around, most members are just hopeful and excited that it will be a great beer. I'm sure there's still a lot of excitement about the perceived trade value, but the enthusiasm seems to be a bit more restrained this time around.

Last time, I think a lot of members were hoping they could make a rent or mortgage payment from the money they planned to make from sale of the beer on the secondary market.

CA Update

We've had an incredible week getting all those fresh GN brews sent all over the Golden State via our one-of-a-kind shipping boxes, but we're SO not done with the excitement yet!

Make sure you've downloaded the app and set your region to California to see what's available. In addition to shipping anywhere in CA, we're stoked to finally introduce Sacramento local delivery and pickup beginning on Saturday!

The Sacramento Fulfillment Center is located at 1329 N Market Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95834.

We're still investigating options for a Sac taproom location, but for now we're thrilled to be able to offer shipping, pickup and local delivery for all of our CA fans. Make sure you're following our IG page for all of those sweet deets and beer drops!

We connected with Cait and Britt from @beersagogo to bring you a brand new collabo! In Our B.A.G.G. is a dry-hopped fruited sour ale with peach, raspberry and vanilla. Beers A Go Go's mission is to bring more women, and especially women of color, into craft beer, providing support and guidance each step of the way.

So Wrong It's Ripe
(7% abv) $20/4pack
This wicked twist on our classic Ripe recipe is back! So Wrong It’s Ripe is a hazy IPA brewed with Citra hops, wheat and rye, then we added a tantalizing dollop of clover honey during fermentation for balance. This brew was finished off just like Ripe with a bangin’ Citra dry-hop. If it’s wrong, we don’t want to be right.
