Half Acre (2021)

Hell, my cuz and I were talking about it this morning. In a lot of cases, wine is a better deal!! There’s a lot of very expensive beer out there. And I can’t quit it.

 

Same. I now have pickup of my DL 2021 package and Benthic on the same day and then the following week, Prop Day pickup and Minutiae tasting back to back. And I have no idea if I have won any BCS allotments. Goddamn stout season is an embarrassment of riches around here.

 

Got one with my MacBook Pro at 9:14am. My LG android phone might have been in line, not sure since the reCAPTCHA was in an infinite loop. This sure beats the pre-pandemic good times a few years ago waiting in line at Lincoln during a snowstorm.

 

Still better than paying 100 for a single 12oz bottle of subjectively the same quality of beer.

 

How does the Maplewood Cuppa release compare to this one as far as how many people go after it?

We have three entries - Myself, my buddy and my wife. Hoping one of them hits.

 

haha I realize no one has the numbers exactly. I just didn't know if there was a sense of how hyped one might be vs the other.

I have been aware of both releases in the past, but I've never had a proxy and I haven't been to Chicago since like 1997 or 1998, so they haven't been something that was consistently on my radar. I've definitely been aware of Half Acre longer than Maplewood, but that doesn't mean anything.

 

I'd say HA has a slight edge over Maplewood based on my experience from when we had line up releases and the past couple years of online releases. They both sell out with the initial line / server load pretty quick. BA Cuppa Cinnamon Coconut from a couple years ago put Maplewood's BA program on the radar for many. Being BA Cuppa is on Oznr with proxies available, I'm sure it's a fairly large pool of entries.

 

not to hate on stout season, but aren't we due a batch of Sailor's Kush sometime soon??

Hopefully our three entries will be enough for one of them to hit.

Seems like a pretty high success rate going so far from the regulars, which is kinda surprising. Considering the hype Benthic has, I was thinking it was going to be more of a mixed bag.

Can someone explain to me what this Benthic scheduled pick up email does except for including gratuity? I didnt see an option for picking a weekend lol

 

It says to enter your email as the as the access code. then you can select a window.

 

Gotta click access key and then enter the email you used to purchase Benthic

Scheduling the pick-up week through Universe was super confusing to me. I accidentally sent through a $0.00 tip by itself like an asshole trying to get to the screen where I could select the pick-up. Even after I realized I needed to use an access key, I spent way too long trying to find it. There's definitely gonna be people trying to pick up their Benthic with a QR code for a $0.00 tip, haha!

Oh, and tipping the staff is great. Tipping "Universe" 30% of your Half Acre tip by way of a service charge sucks. I'm gonna bring cash.
