Seems like it could be a nice update if this allows them to automatically assign points and allow rev reward redemptions for online orders.

And the Benthic release last year used Tock, not ToastTab.

Thanks for the correction. I wasn’t around, so this was just my poor memory via word of mouth. Appreciate it.

Was at the River Grove Binnys today and picked up a couple packs of Deth's Tar They had a bunch of older stuff on the shelf - Mineshaft, Ryeway, Supermassive, Cafe Deth, Deth by Cherries and Straight Jacket.

    STOP IT!!! :sob:
I don't want to know where it's still around - I'll be tempted to pick some up just when I'm budgeting for current releases!!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::money_mouth::crazy_face:
The North Riverside Binny's in the past always had LOTS of barrel aged goodies lying around for awhile too.

It must have taken a lot of restraint, as moderator, to not delete that post!

Yeah, we need to keep this 30,000 sq ft outpost of the midwest’s largest liquor chain a secret.

I approve of PB Eugene. Great mouthfeel from the PB, only complaint is that it mellows some of the robustness of the base itself. Perfect amount of PB imo, drinks very smooth.

I almost spit out my coffee (i.e. beer) when I read that. Hilarious!

Thanks for the review, since I'm not a fan of PB in any beer, but will take a chance on this one.
But "mouthfeel" - I've used the term, but it still seems weird to see it in writing...

I love that Half Acre is following Rev with 12oz cans of Benthic.
Now we need them to follow with reasonable pricing like Rev has.
Of course, my wife would say that spending over $300 each month for 4pks is NOT reasonable...
Looking forward to seeing you degenerates/lovely folks on the 19th.
Just ask around for Vinnie Z :innocent:
Don't forget to tip those fine folks - and you can use Rev Rewards for your tips and drinks, you just have to go to the register for them to look you up, and that may take an extra minute or two. :money_mouth:
(yeah, I've been drinking, so what? I get an extra hour of sleep tonight! :sunglasses:)

After not drinking for 4 months, or buying beer for 6, here’s my irrelevant review of the three Deep Wood series beers I just had:

Deth’s Tar - Really like barrel presence up front, with the chocolate and bit of vanilla notes. It’s become a solid year over year straight up BA imperial stout. Medium feel, which is not a negative. I like that it doesn’t feel like I’m eating a meal. If there is something I miss, it’s that the great initial taste isn’t matched on the back end. Kind of fades.

Deth Raspberries - I love raspberries so I probably like this more than most because this is all raspberries basically. Maybe a hint of chocolate sweetness but the raspberries drown out any barrel or roastiness.

Café Deth - Strange that this is my favorite of the bunch, as I usually prefer just a solid BA IS, but this one definitely delivers with balanced flavor. Barrel balances the creamy coffee and smooth, light chocolate flavors. Some roastiness, but all in balance. Most impressive is how this beer avoids being a green pepper bomb like so many coffee stouts. My favorite Café Deth vintage definitely.

Overall, a really good trio especially if you like raspberries like I do. Also big thanks to Rob (from Rev) for helping me sort out through my rewards account. I’m getting back to my old ways now that my wife and I got our month old little guy healthy and well at home.

I made a blend of 2 parts Raspberry to 1 part Cafe last night. That was really damn good.

I envision myself doing a Scrooge McDuck into a pile of money while sporting a 6 pack (the non-beer kind) if I accomplished this feat.

    Also, welcome back.

One of the funnier Xmas-named beers I've seen is on tap at both locations

Open Slay Farmhouse Ale - Bière de Garde

    8.4% ABV

    25 IBU

Our Biere de Noel prominently features buckwheat honey and a spice blend created by our Pub Chef. It's lagered for 4 weeks, and releases a bouquet of cinnamon, clove, and oatmeal cookie aromas. Flavors of toasted bread, faint cherry, and clove, follow with just enough alcohol to warm you up.

I just don’t like it becuase it’s a lesser term for a word we already have - “texture”.

I appreciate you so much @GuyFawkes , but that is such a mild play on words...you need to work on your sense of humor. (I did catch that the first time through, I just thought there was something else I was missing, since it was such low hanging fruit.)
