I took it to read the nostalgia was barrel aged.

 

A 0% chance to get one of the three variants also isn't how random works.

 

Where was it stated anywhere that each day had an equal allocation of a particular variant? It’s still random because FFF didn’t tell anyone the day or time certain variants would be distributed, if they even kept track of such a thing beyond just loading up trucks with the 3000 bottles of each variant and making sure the bags didn’t have doubles inside.

Just because earlier pickups may have distributed more of HJ does not change the overall odds.

Now if FFF was allowing swaps, that takes the random away entirely and is instead direct selection. I hope they weren’t allowing it and I agree with the above sentiments that anyone who tried to swap out a bag from the brewery is the worst sort of entitled neckbeard ruining it for everyone after him.

 

A zero percent chance would imply no one got
A handjee on Sunday which I can confirm is false. It also never snows in Chicago if you throw out all the days it snows in Chicago.

 

That’s not what “random” means.

Obviously this thing was never going to be truly “random”, but 50% / 50% / 0% odds is literally as far from “random” as it is possible to get in this situation.

 

No it doesn’t. It implies that I (and everyone else who picked up when I did) had a 0% chance.

I paid the same $$ as the people who picked up any other day, but I didn’t get the same service. This is why I’m not happy.

EDIT: I also bought 2 bags expecting it would increase my chances of getting a Handjee, which it would have if it was “random.” It didn’t. This is also why I’m angry.

 

Here's why I didn't buy DL this year despite high likelihood of finally getting Handjee. Because I wouldn't get Handjee and would be this guy right here.

 

Yes you did. I picked up on the first day and got 2 of the same bag- chemtrailmix and adultsized. So you got the exact same service as me. FFF also specifically said buying two bags may result in getting the same bag twice before they went onsale.

And I hate to break it to you but increased chance != guaranteed opportunity like you seem to be treating it.

Lastly, random just means they weren’t passing it out on a specific plan or schedule. You are adding statistical analytics definitions to an ordinary word. No brewer is sitting there figuring out how to make distribution statistically random, nor do reasonable, rational people expect them to. They made up the bags then there was no plan as to when they got passed out other than giving people the proper number of bags when they showed up on their day.

You act like the brewery should have spun a wheel of fortune for each bag for each person but a) I’m glad they didn’t because the line would’ve been all day and b) I get the feeling that you would still claim it wasn’t random if the wheel landed on HJ too many times before it was your turn to spin and they were all out.

 

Except as somebody pointed out earlier in the thread handjee was still being handed out at 4 PM on Sunday. So the fact that someone said they were out earlier in the thread was in fact wrong. They probably didn’t want to dig through a bunch of bags to try and find a handjee

 

I literally asked the people at FFF and they literally told me they were completely out of Handjee. Another guy who picked up at the same time as me proxied 8 bags and got 8 CTM and 8 ASB. They were completely out.

 

I didn’t. You may have gotten the same result as me, but you at least had a chance for Handjee. I had zero chance for Handjee.

If I just got unlucky, I’d be a little miffed because I think the people packing bags know what they are giving people. But I would ultimately be OK with it. My problem is that I bought 2 bags to increase my chances of a Handjee (a reasonable expectation for a supposedly random thing) and I didn’t get what I paid for. I would have only bought 1 bag if I knew I had a 0% chance.

I hate to break it to you, but the “out of handjee” story was to make you go away.

 

I’m not on Facebook, but still have not seen anyone here who got HJ after early afternoon. They were all out.
There were 1500 totes of each combo. To only have 200-300 left of a single combo is not random. It’s just not.

 

here’s an easy out for this argument: does CTM not trade 1:1 with HJ? seems an obvious swap to me. problem solved.

So far Handjee has been the higher trade value, most people are adding a plus with Chem to land it. I got two packs with Handjee and wanted a Chem so I did a 1:1 trade in the Floyd’s parking lot, but apparently I was being a generous trader in the current market.

 

exact same bottle count, exact same cost of admission… the craft beer community makes sense once again

I think it’s mostly that ba vanilla stouts are almost universally loved in craft beer. Cinnamon can be a bit more polarizing.
