Drinking the newest Nosh with Nelson and Strata for the first beer of the weekend. Damn, I’m a sucker for Nelson hopped beers. Another tasty DIPA from Twin Elephant.

good to hear, may need to pop over there.. I was a little disappointed in the Citra Rakau Nosh... something was a bit different about it. Not bad, but not as good as usual, and I don't think it was the hop combo, but the underlying base... but I seem to be an outlier based on untappd..

Grabbed a four pack of Shimmy Ye' which is terrific. There's a very aggressive hop bite at the start, but it mellows out quite nicely

I’ve found that I don’t care much for beers with Rakau hops not sure why.

That statement for me, except swap "Rakau" for "Mosaic."

I really liked the Nelson and Strata. I think a lot of brewers overplay the Nelson but TE uses it very effectively in this version of Nosh. There's also some nice, earthy red berry and cannabis. It's a very good beer.

Good to know on the Nelson/Strata, may scoop some up. I grabbed a crowler of the new Quested variant. I really liked the last time they brewed this and it was Citra based. This one is Strata. Will report back when I try it.

So why is it called west coast, if it's clearly hazy.

yeah much more NE than west coast when I last had. It did have a bit more bitterness, and higher carbonation as I recall, which I liked. more of a hybrid - but 75/25 east/west.. lol

Had that same thought lol. I haven't tried it yet so can't speak to it really. The post did say it had some bitterness, but bitterness is not the only thing that makes a WC IPA
That makes sense - more of a hybrid is what I was thinking. Though again, I haven't actually had it.

Clearly Hazy....I see what you did there. That sounds like the name of a Magnify beer, "Clearly Hazy is our newest berry fruited sour."

Had the Stoner Breath last weekend, and was not a fan. I think the Terpenes were wayyyyyyy to prominent, probably overdid the ratio or something, but it was overpowering pine / herbal / soapy flavor that made it pretty unpleasant to me....

I did like the Across the Sea hoppy saison quite a bit though.

Looking forward to the Lager collab that should be coming soon.

Grabbed a four pack yesterday, it ks a solid bangin Lager. Nice to see such a good beer for their first canned Lager.

Going to be in that area this Saturday. If I stopped one brewery up there would this be the one?

As a bit of a homer, I'd say absolutely, they're one of my favorites in the whole state.

If you’re going to be close to TE, then absolutely that should be the one. If you want more styles, not as good but more diverse would be Untied which is very close to TE.
