Is there no way to use a gift card when trying to purchase for the pre-sale? I have a gift card I've been trying to use for 3 years. :grimacing:

I don’t think you can. It’s only when you visit (I’m almost positive that’s how it works)

You can do it if you phone in your order when the taproom is open during their regular hours. (though I would avoid this Friday - they'll be busy ) You do run the risk of limited beers selling out, but I have purchased many beers and merch this way over the past year using my Rev Rewards.

V.S.O.J. is on at the Taproom, per website.

Yeah - nobody brought that up here, but they put that on draft Saturday afternoon after the FoBAB gold. The draft list was last updated on Saturday - Could they possibly still have it on?!?

They are pretty good about changing the site when something kicks...they are closed Monday & Tuesday so I'd say there's a good chance it's still there.

DDB ( AKA dontdrinkbeers) has a pretty good review of Finn up on the gram. I edited just for you @GuyFawkes

    Appreciate the tip.

After reading, I can't decide if I am expecting that I would like BF or hate BF. In general, I don't like fruited beers. At the same time, the gusto with which he is writing is awe inspiring. But his descriptions are decidedly off-putting - for me, for a barleywine.

Am I the only one feeling this way?

DDB has always been the Lester Bangs of beer reviews. His writing style is very poetic and I have no idea what he’s saying half the time.

nope. I feel the same way. I thought Strawberry Jacket was on the edge of being undrinkabke for my pallet.

I totally understood what they were going for and appreciate it, but the 4oz taster I got at the taproom is enough for me.

I assumed Blackberry Finn would be along the same lines. Very jammy, but with little alcohol.

But with the way it’s being written about it sounds like it’s basically Backyard Rye.

Still not taking a $50 flyer on it. I live walking distance from the brewpub, so definitely gonna have it on draft before I make a decision.

Blackberry Finn reminds me a lot of a darker more complex Code Switch, which I really enjoyed (but I know was controversial).

VS Vanilla Deth Jacket is unsurprisingly a killer variant.

I love how the draft only variants push past the boundaries of the typically tight and balanced canned offerings. If I had to pick from the 3 today, Very Special Old Flak Jacket is the one I'd most like to see again. The description leads with "sweet component" but it's hardly cloying. I found it to be dominated by dry caramelized sugar, almost like butterscotch.

Damn you, Mr. Bond. I was this so close to avoiding this go around of Deep Woods, but you couldn’t leave well enough alone! The comparison to Code Switch has foiled my plan and will in turn cost me a fair amount of money. I will have my revenge, Mr. Bond. (Maniacal laughing )
