Twin Cities Bottle Sightings (2021)

I bought some at Brooklyn Park Hy-Vee, but that was a few months ago. Next time I'm there I'll check it out. Probably be Saturday.

 

New batch of Spirit Foul. Seems like yesterday this was flying off the shelves as soon as it landed. Far more options in this style now, but still a nice batch this year!

 

Utepils Minnator Dopplebock in cans, they might be releasing this in a winter variety pack???? I haven't seen it yet.

I might stop at Forgotten Star for there Dopplebock and Broken Clock for there Barrel aged Bock this weekend.

 

Anyone have insight to what BCBS variants we'll see on MN? Thinking we'll see Cherry Wood and Cola, probably 14, probably maybe the reserves, probably not Toasted Barrel. That's based off what we saw last year and just one idiot's opinion.

Unfortunately I think the Utepils Dopplebock is only in a variety pack (and only at HyVee?). I really wish some local breweries would widely distribute dopplebocks.

 

The variety pack is also at Total Wine.

For anyone else interested, along with the dopplebock, it has their Pils, Alt 1848, and Loonar Eclipse. I don't buy their products quite as often as I probably should, so I didn't mind picking up the variety pack. But I do agree, 4-packs of dopplebock would've been nice.

 

I would suggest going next door to Hudson & grabbing some New Glarus Gyrator Doppel. It's a dandy!!

 

Is that still around in Hudson? Thought about hitting up Casanova.

 

I passed through on Friday & they still had it. I was looking for Staghorn, (no luck), so grabbed Gyrator, very good!

 

Xuul was canned just over a week ago, I wonder what this batch is like? The flavor profile seems to change.

 

After a several year hiatus, Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Imperial Dark (“Blau”) is back on the shelves in the US. If anyone out there is into Belgian quads and hasn’t tried this before, this is a must try.

Just opened my first 2021 bottle and it might somehow be even more fantastic than I recall it previously being for so many years. Based on past experience it also ages like an absolute champ.

Had it for the first time this summer. Really great. I'll have to be on the lookout for it around here.

 

I see Surly has Yummi Bear back in stores this season. I wasn't sure how well it was received originally. I'm happy it's back.

 

Hy-Vee in Brooklyn Park got some in.
