Christmas Ale to kick it off. Having the family over for Thanksgiving dinner today. Cheers fellas

 

Allagash Nocturna barrel aged impy stout

 

First bottle. The aromatics are great. The taste is also great. I don’t notice much of a difference between this and Born Yesterday, despite the increase in ABV. People always talk about IPAs finishing dry. This may be the driest finishing beer I’ve had.

Oh hell yeah. I was going to play the weekends were made for Michelob commercial, because when I was in high school in the late seventies that was our song. The reality was,
weekends were made for Genny Cream Ale or Molson Red (Export).

 

Schell's Cave-Aged, Barrel-Aged dark lager. best by 031422 ABV?
I bought a 6 pack of 12oz bottles last night.
Nice tall tan head that lasts forever leaving plenty of lacing.
tastes good: roast, caramel, vanilla, oak, brandy, hint of red wine and rye
rather smooth, plenty of alcohol but not overbearing.
I might have to do review after a few more bottles in the future
unsure what style the base beer is.
