I don't know how to link to an individual tweet, but according to https://twitter.com/#!/AdamATLbeer, Goose Island is going to be coming to GA this summer. Some killjoy followed up by saying it won't be the "full lineup" -- hopefully whatever lineup they give us includes BCS. I heard Boulevard is supposed to be entering GA this year too. Could be a mighty fine year.
They are coming to NC, eventually: http://reports.abc.nc.gov/abc_repor...dividual_brand_report¶m0=6747¶m1=6747 I'm guessing it will be about the same for GA. All the Bud distributors get it, and it will be Honkers, IPA and a seasonal beer. Not going to get BCS right away if ever.
Lame. Don't really care about GI outside of BCS. This would be like getting Russian River, but without any of their sours or IPAs.
Yeah, Honkers Ale and GI IPA are both mediocre beers in styles where we already have way too many mediocre beers.
I think Honkers is a decent offering from GI. I don't know about the rest of you but I think bitters aren't all that prevalent when I go looking for one.
This is actually a fair point. I've gotten a bit tired of hop-bombs recently, and the least hopped ales you can find with any abundance are still APAs or IPAs.
I can't figure out how their distro works. In Colorado we seem to get their middle tier beers (Pere Jaques, Matilda, Sofie) but don't get any of the really good stuff (BCBS, KH, Nightstalker, etc...) or the run of the mill stuff (312, Honkers, anything in a 6 pack).
I heard Q4 for GI in GA was the case from a local bottle shop owner, who heard it from the distributor. With the expansion of GI's barrel program, we can hold out a little hope that we may eventually see some BCBS.
