One of my favorite glasses, labels, and bottle caps. I'm glad that the beer is really good too!

bought wine barrel black hole because it was marked down to 6.99 and I've never sprung for a mikkeller beer before... unfortunately it was totally flat... tasty but it's hard to be enthusiastic about a still beer

Just opened up my DFH Birra Etrusca Bronze
For those interested pours a pinkish bronze color,
nice lacing on the glass, picking up alot of fruit aroma- green apple, pear, pomegranate.
First sip was very fruity, acidic, but a refreshing wine like clean finnish the fine champange like bubbles of carbonation making it very drinkable. My first sip was taking when the beer was pretty cold but now that its warmed up a little you can really pick up the honey and other subtle spices. (side not: it is brewed with Myrrh and gentian root. I love DFH but cant appreciate what flavors are from what ingredient sometime becuase seriously how many people have tasted gentian root and Myrrh maybe only I havnt) Any ways after one glass (brooklyn brewery sig glass) it really is a refreshing beer can see it pairing really nicely with some fish and chips, a swordfish, maybe a flat bread garlic and tomato pizza. Overall it really grows on you after each sip but maybe more of a spring or summer beer. Really a perfect bridge between wine and beer or vice versa. It comes in at 8.5 abv. Careful this beer is extremely easy to drink. Any questions let me know. I guess id sum up the beer by saying its a perfect compliment to a nice piece of grilled fish. Maybe the beer talking but I just keep thinking picnic on the lawn of central park

Ha! Right off the bat I would like to say I have tasted gentian root in our Italian Amaro's. If you have seen my post's here, I am truly a number one Italian craft advocate.

When it come to this particular beer, this is an American take and collaboration of the Italian ingenuity and approach to beer. Once again, gentian root is something that is in EVERY amaro in Italy, including myrrh and there has to be 100's of different brands to chose from, all with their different tastes.

What did you think about the can version? I grabbed a 4 pack myself this weekend and while it wasn't bad I found it a bit watery or lacking in flavor. I've always really loved toxic sludge but mostly I've had it on tap at the brewery or a bar. Granted they are canning off-site. Interested in what you thought of it.

Plead the 5th. The BA version gets a lot of love, but this is a helluva brew all on its own.
