    Hello,

Planning a trip to LA in January. Dates are somewhat open-ended so I wanted to reach out to this forum to see if there are any events occurring in January in the LA area that might be worth planning my trip around. I definitely plan on visiting Lost Abbey, but that is probably the farthest I'd be traveling in any given direction.

Thanks in advance for any recommendations.

Depending where you are in LA, Lost Abbey is 100+ miles away in north SD County. If you are in north SD county, your options are ........well, tons.

Homage should be the top priority, which is next to HPB also. Between the two, you will likely have a stellar representation of everything you might be looking for: sours, stouts, pilsners, IPAs. I think Homage is up there with SARA for best brewery in the West Coast, and one of the best breweries in the world right now.

Monkish is the other must visit, in Torrance. Their haze game is still without par in town, and everything they do is excellent. Their stouts, while rarely available, can be astounding too.

Other than that, I would check out the Glendale Tap for the best beer bar in town, for my money. And amazing bottle shop to boot. Incredible food rotating.

In the West Side, Firestone Walker is always a great visit.

And if into sours, Cellador makes some excellent stuff.

In Koreatown, Southland Beer is one of my favorites. Also a great shop.

Any notable places with great tap lists and kitchens? Visiting LA for work (potentially) this month. Never been. I generally only have enough time for a dinner and a beer during site visits. I'll be staying near Pasadena.

Gonna keep Homage, Glendale Tap, and Monkish in mind. Looks like Glendale Tap may be the most likely to happen. Monkish is quite a bit out of the way after a site visit, although this would be my choice to visit. I do like hauling home beer, so Glendale Tap may be the one certain stop.

Need to continue my search, but wanted to check in with the LA crowd.

Not an LA resident, but you could also add Tony's Darts Away for another food/beer option, depending on where you end up.
