Its easier and easier to spot excited early twentysomthings these days well on their hop journey. Hoppier doesn't = better. Just a nice shock and delight to the palate when discovering your newfound joy for hops hops hops.

Ill get off my preachy high horse now. :stuck_out_tongue:

I live in Philly, so I've had Pliny and Hopslam fresh on tap (and love them both btw.) I also just drank an Abrasive within two weeks of canning too, so yeah I know what I'm talking about. Real Boy is excellent, and if you get a chance to try it, its a serious good IPA. Galaxy hops, thats all I have to say.

Hopslam is only 11 months old at this point, and yes, I know its old and drank all of my Hopslam at this point.

This should have been your original post and everything would have been fine. But when you come out of the gate and say that it kills tried and true beers and that its probably the best beer ever and then go and compare it to a year old DIPA, you are going to annoy some of the sailors on the boat you are rocking.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Just because Galaxy hops are used doesnt mean its a great beer. I have not had this "real boy," so i cannot say that it is great or good or bad. What i can say that just because it has one of the more recent hyped hops does not mean that it is good. Just like not every beer with Citra, simcoe or nelson is going to be good. So no, galaxy hops is not all you have to say. Post a review for you fellow BA's and let them seek it out. Build the hype that way. Offer it in trades. But running around on a saturday night claiming that this beer is better then some of the most respected DIPas in the country is not the way to do it.

    Prost!

I bet its great, the same brewer has a beer in the top 100 that is galaxy hopped. Not being over-hyped and still making the top 100 is pretty impressive. It is really easy to get a rise out of people on here lol great thread OP. The guy likes a beer and hes excited about it give him a break. There are 5 reviews of it on here and they all say its awesome
