Me and my fiancé (damn, I can’t believe I just typed that ) have made our fair share of journeys up and around California since we’ve been together. On the way home from Vegas last weekend, I told her that our next spot needs to be Kern. I’m actually surprised that I haven’t been there myself. No doubt my favorite brewery next to Russian River. Anyway, she’s a scientist and her lab works her like a dog. We spent three weeks in France in August to see her parents, and this Christmas her parents are coming to the US for the first time. So it would have to be a weekend trip from Orange County for us. Does anyone recommend that short of a trip? Thanks!

It’s about the same distance as Vegas. Time wise. I’m in North OC. Your better off going the 15 > 395 > 178 route.

I’m not sure of the deciding criteria, but I recommend it! :+1::beers:

Well apparently my Citra shipment arrived according to GLS but when I looked there was nothing there. I was home at the time and no knock or anything. Aren't they supposed to get signature!?!

I'm just ranting on here because GLS isn't open yet, but I suspect that when I call to complain they'll tell me I'm SOL. What a drag.

I finally contacted GSL and they said that it shows as if it was delivered. I told them that I was home at the time and nobody knocked and I didn't sign for it. She confirmed that because it's alcohol somebody needs to sign for it and it appears what happened was that the driver dropped it off and signed for it him or herself. I guess somebody snatched it off the porch right after that, which is a little surprising given the way my house is set up. But maybe somebody was following the delivery truck and waiting to pick up whatever they dropped off. In any case, I assume the driver is going to be in some hot water for signing for it themselves. I used to think it was convenient to have the driver just drop it off and not require a signature, but now given this I wish they actually did what they were supposed to and get me to sign for it.

Bradley’s in Tustin just got in some Class V. Best no nonsense Stout out there. I would have grabbed a four pack but they also just got in Bacon and Eggs and finally the new Tres Leches Xocoveza.

I've twice had a GLS delivery guy flat-out lie and fake a signature while not even attempting to deliver a box (security camera outside of my building showed no trace of him), then spent hours dealing with GLS customer service, only for the package to mysteriously show up 3 days later with no real acknowledgement of what happened from GLS. I hope that you at least get your beers like I did.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. After I posted this I felt like such a Karen and felt bad for subjecting everyone to my rant. It turns out after all this that they delivered it to my neighbor's house and they just brought it over today. I ended up making a second order this morning, so now I'll get twice the goodness. So I appreciate the offer but all is good and I can't wait to crack a couple of Citras tonight!!

My neighborhood shop has Citra in Downtown Bakersfield. 8 cans dated 11-19-2021.

    Can't get much fresher.

Any Citra making it to OC distribution?

I’m a bit shocked not to see any Citra cans in the OC/LA area by now. Last years release was on shelves (or coolers) within the first week of release. More online orders this year? Got plenty left. Might try and hold one for Christmas. Chuurch! was outstanding for me this Citra season. Even JO is tasting outstanding this batch. I hope Citra cans start showing up in OC/LA area soon for those who’s seeking. It’s tasting mighty fine right about now.

We will be canning our last batch on Monday of next week, then ship it out to distributors on Tuesday. There were a lot of direct sales this year, so I expect distribution to be tight.

    Winter brewing today

Went to Bradley’s in Tustin today and the new owner didn’t even know what this beer was. I will keep my eyes peeled for OC distro because last year Citra slayed hard.
