    Good day BA's! Anyone like Nelson Sauvin hops?This is the last of my stash of this single hop pilsner from Southern Grist Brewing Co Nashville - Southern Crisp. Checking in at a sessionable 4.4% ABV. It's dry hopped with Nelson. Nice change of pace from noble hops. Nelson gives it a herbal/grassy aroma and flavor to go along with the signature white grape-like notes. Very crisp, clean and dry to the finish. Nice pilsner.

    It's Wednesday already? This week is flying by, but these last few weeks after Thanksgiving always seem to go by fast...especially the older I get. Cheers all!

    One thing I hate about winter is we loose so much good daylight. My outdoor photos are just not as good. Oh well...

    I haven't heard this tune Vince Guaraldi (he of Peanuts theme song fame) in a long time. Not sure what made me think of it, it just came to me.

    LOl! I actually thought of you when I broke this out. Nelson works really well in this pilsner. It's perfect on a hot, steamy summer day in the south. Not bad on December 1 for that matter! Cheers!

    look: 3.75 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 3.75

    Hazy, peach yellow body; one-finger plus thick head, sudsy and sticky. Mishmash of dull, earthy citrus smells, orange primarily; subtle note of oats. Big citrus flavor; orange and grapefruit; biscuit-like undertones; strong bitterness. Sharp and biting mouthfeel with a very strong acidic nature; heavy in character; boozy burn to the palate.

    If big, boozy, and biting are what you are looking for in a hazy India pale ale, this one might do the trick for you. Without knowing the date of production or bottling, it's difficult to judge how this one would be at another time, but on a personal level, I find this beer a bit harsh overall. I'm guessing this beer has some age to it, thus any subtleties have vanished. A shame, since I love a good triple IPA.

    More Nelson Sauvin for our virtual bar friend @TheIPAHunter . This is Akademia Parallax Project I DIPA 8.8% ABV. Features Nelson, Galaxy & Citra. The other two hops kinda of over shadow Nelson in this one. Last one of a four pack I had. It was packaged on 4/22. It surprisingly still packs a puch though. I kept it well stored.

    Yep, that one is a classic. It's got a nice malt backbone to support the hops notes in it.
