If they had a "cool packaging" award, I'd bump that one way up. Looks really neat. Thanks for sharing.

    Congrats on the marathon.

Well, that sounds like a good idea! I'm always up for challenges. I have thought about running from Vancouver to San Diego....

hell, you didn't ask, but..... My advice? Pour a couple Vitamin R's down her neck, and take her out trap shooting. Improves the hand-eye coordination thing....

I'm the best, fun uncle ever!

One of the better marathons, in terms of organization. It's a point-to-point, with about 15 buses taking everyone from the finish line to the start line at 4:30am. 17 aid stations, great course, TONS of spectators (like all the way!), a great medal and shirt, and hot food and Sierra Nevada beer at the finish line. I will definitely do it again.

    Dude. Really?

    RUN the PCT.

I'll meet you at the Whatcom County/Canadia border, take you immediately to North Fork for pizzas and beers, and then we can hang in Hamsterdam for a couple days whilst you, uh, 'recuperate'.

The amount of "my bus got lost" stories I've heard makes me nervous, but happy to hear some rave reviews. It's on my radar for a fast marathon.

Sent ya a PM to hear more, without divulging running details that would put others asleep in their beer.

Haha - true but they did have Sierra Nevada pouring good beer at the finish line!

I think @eppCOS would definitely be up for this! Maybe @Roy_Hobbs as well. We need to do this. BeerAdvocate running shirts - hell yes!

If sponsors aren't liable for any damages, injuries, or deaths, I'd be open to hearing more.

I'm in as tour guide host, here on the North end.

    But!

I'm long past the point in my life where I'll run from or for anything.

The beer will be plentiful, cold, and varied!

Whatcom County welcomes our trail running overlords!

Mikkeller Running Club was around for awhile. I'd honestly race in Beer Advocate beer if I could pick the material / garment.

We could rep in major marathons and some relays. I'd love to do Hood to Coast. Outside of my targeted major marathons.

Sounds like I need to hear more from @Todd . @BBThunderbolt has mentioned some interesting races too.

All right I'm back home. It's snowing outside again, and getting windy as hell outside. Blizzard time!

It's also time for my last new beer of the weekend.
Bane - Oatmeal Stout - Pantown Brewing - St. Cloud, MN - 6% ABV

I really need to get to this place more often. They're still making good beer. Yeah, Back Shed is like 3 blocks away, and Pantown is a mile and a half, but I've been neglecting them.

I'm not going to lie, I've not been the biggest fan of the French Toast subset style of the Oatmeal Stout in the past, and I'm probably still not, however this is a good beer. Lots of brown sugar, maple, caramel and some creamy flavor (not sure if lactose is involved). Overall, good.

This beer pours a nice dark brown color. The head, which is long lasting, is tan in color, and 2 finger. There's a bit of lacing on the glass.
The nose has good notes of brown sugar, malty biscuit, and a creamy lactose hint.
The flavor There's a good amount of brown sugar in here. I also get maple, caramel, malty biscuit, and I get a slight creamy flavor - don't know if lactose is in here.
The body is good, and just right for the style. Not too thick, or thin.
    Pretty good beer overall.

I'm done here tonight. See you all down the road. Maybe next weekend, but not sure what my plans are yet. Cheers all!

Umm, I know industry folks around here, we can likely make a nice reception fest happen. Folks could fly out of SEA, YVR or BLI (we have Alaska, Southwest, and Allegiant in/out). We, here in the PNW, also have a strong culture of outdoors events. My city would grab onto this. iIsee the questions being more en route of the PCT.

I get this is just beer talk, but... it's also not beyond reason. Time it so that it ends late July/early August, and that's our best weather (wild fires not withstanding).

And, I have connections with folks who put on local/regional events like this. We need to find similar organizations throughout the length of the trail.

He was a Blue Merle Rough Collie, named Damien Bleu with a Quebec lineage, hence the French spelling. He was my canine co-pilot while driving truck (VT-NYC-VT) in the early to mid-nineties.
I never had another dog after he passed on 8/2/99...(I still can't replace him)...and never had another pet 'til 2017 when I rescued an old cat named Uncle Harry. Harry's now gone since April of this year and I then rescued another cat named Shadow; he's all black, five years old, and a hellion.
I still find Damien's hair in the strangest of places. :sob:

    It's not replacing.

It's giving another dude another chance.

Would Damien want to see you alone?

This would be amazing. Runners love beer, and some marathons have over 20,000 runners. What a great way to advertise for BeerAdvocate. @Todd - if this sounds like a possibility, we should form a small group to toss ideas around!
