Ah yes the extremely dismissive response to the valid critique of 'does this brewery still turn a blind eye to racist activity amongst it's staff'. I'm so very glad that racism doesn't effect you, or that you just don't care about it, or that you can separate the beer from the brewer but stay in your lane with the dismissive bullshit when other people care enough to abstain from giving their money to problematic companies, thanks.

If you strayed from every company that had controversy between corporate power and employees, you’d have nothing to eat or drink. Cheers.

Boycotting people with questionable morals is why I stopped home brewing.

If I boycotted everybody with questionable morals, it’s doubtful I could shop at Meijers for groceries. Multi million dollar corporations are bound to displease the little guy, I’ve come to know that as a fact of life. I’ve moved on and learned to enjoy what I want. Cheers.

CBS appeared suddenly in large numbers in 2021 Louisiana and now sits on the shelves...

You can have a bit of nuance in your assessments, racist work culture is certainly a level above 'controversy', it's an extremely valid reason to boycott a company for many people. It takes a bit of work but you absolutely can avoid establishments that are known for being problematic. It's not that difficult if it's something that you care about.
There's the matter of how prominent a company or product is within your life, it's necessity and it's ubiquity. I'd love to boycott big oil and pharmaceutical companies for their grievances on humankind and the earth (because I certainly think that's a bigger affront than a racist little brewery in Michigan) but I live in a rural area where driving is a necessity and I'm not a fan of a preventable death.

Craft beer isn't exactly essential as much as I'd like to think so and it's uniquely an industry full of many good people. It's not difficult to search a little deeper and find businesses that give back to their communities, who build inclusive spaces and support their employees. If there's anywhere in our day to day where we can vote with out dollars and support good people this is it.

Next time it's brewed they will package it in cans, so grab bottles while you can

This reminded me. Walkex into a liqour store next to my Muay Thai gym drunk and started babbling. Ended up with cool guys number to call when Willettized drops and he said he'd get me as many as I want. I had forgotten he did the same last year, he literally pulled out his Ipad( he uses that to order from Lagunitas) and ordered a case just for me after i mentioned my love for it. I bought half the case and plan to buy a full one this year. Simply just too great to not do it considering all the overpricedcshite these days.

I think at this point you're over reacting brotha. They addressed the shit and the racizm was coming from employees and not upper management . Yes, Tracy CLAIMED he was fired when he threatened management Saying he was going to HR but then he settled with undisclosed terms and both parties AGREED no one was at fault...so why are you holding a grudge if Tracy is obviously happy with whatever they paid him? Ifnit were a big deal he would've taken the shit to trial . And before you accuse me of not being affected by racism...don't.

    This made me LOL

I’m down in Dallas celebrating the Holidays with family/friends (I live in Omaha).. I go into a Specs (which is a statewide Texas warehouse type liquor/spirits/food Superstore) and low and behold- I see 4 cases of 2019 CBS. Call me crazy, but I had to snag one of those cases. I’m completely geared up now “in case” Founders decides not to brew CBS again- or anytime soon, lol.

    Some questions/comments:

Were those two year old beers discounted?

I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on how well this beer held up over the two years of room temperature storage (I presume room temperature).

    Cheers!

What I know thus far- it was an unopened, boxed case. And stored at room temps in store. I paid $140.00 for the case, so no real discount there.

When I get home in a couple of days, I’ll sample one out of that case and advise how it’s held up compared to the cases I’ve had cellaring at basically room (65-68 degrees) at my residence. Those have cellared wonderfully with 2 plus years of age.

    Cheers to you!

Do you have an actual cellar to cellar your beers? The temperatures you listed (65-68 degrees) is much warmer than the temperatures in my cellar.

    Cheers!

I don’t have an actual beer cellar. Just a dark, cooler space in my basement where I’ve squirreled away beers to age for years. Haven’t ran into any issues to date.

    Dark and cool(er) is best.
And that is the important aspect. Needless to say but aging of beer and the associated beer appreciation is a subjective thing.

    Cheers!

I’m all but certain we’ve discussed this before, but where in your home is your cellar located and how do you maintain temperature?
