Hello, Other Half is releasing a bunch of BA Snowbirds today. Is there there any interest out there for trading? I bought 3 OH Bubble Wraps, thinking people wanted that, but that was a flop. So, before I do that again… If these have any trade potential, I might make the run. If not, there are plenty other beers to sink my money. I always look for BA stouts or barleywines if it comes to pass.
Last time, their stouts were too sweet for my palate but I want to give them another go. I’d be interested in a bottle or two of the Snowbirds 5 BBA Imperial Stout with Marcona Almonds, Coconut and Cacao Nibs. This is pretty beautiful how this developed organically, with someone clearly just looking to try some new items and not attempting to win any trades. -And, in doing so, getting these into the hands of others that would love to try some new stuff. Awesome.
I just learned there is a “pop up” OH in downtown Buffalo, only 1/3 of the travel time from the Rochester store. I don’t see an online order option for it like the Rochester store, but it might be worth the trip. I have to go shopping anyway…LOL! They’re all 2 per person limits. I’ll update this thread in a couple hours. They open at 11 downtown. I appreciate the feedback!
That was a sweet spot! One guy in front of me! I think they’re not even doing limits, but the wife will already take a nut at this rate…Tavour order next week, with a presumed Ohio run…oh no. Assuming I want one of each for me, that leaves one each of 3, 4, 5a, 5b. I don’t usually go for cinnamon in my stouts, so I’ll contemplate how interested I might be to try them. Ok, now I have to shop…for food!
Wow. Today has been / still is crazy. Gazebo flew 20’ in the 60+ mph wind. Thankfully, nobody hurt, no house or other property damage so far (still mighty windy…) but that was money down the drain, unless it’s covered under the home insurance. I disassembled roof panels and weighted / tied it down so hopefully it doesn’t go airborne again. Then I can just disassemble the whole thing. Now the wife is stranded alone at JFK. Flight was cancelled due to the continued winds. Just a vicious, mostly miserable trip from start to finish. Airline seems less than helpful about next steps. I can’t do diddly from here. Send some good vibes her way, would you? I think she’s going to ride out the night at the airport instead of trying to get a hotel…what a CF… So, now that I’ve shared, I’ll PM those that expressed some interest. Prices were 24, 28, and 30, but I’m too distracted to remember without checking the site.
Hope her night in the airport isn't too rough. It's tough, but the reunion after a trip like that is all the more sweet.
Ok, I’m closing this for now. They did not sell out, so there might be a chance I make another run for some. I’ve tried 3 of 4 so far, and they were each excellent.
FYI: Traded a 4, 5 banana, and an extra for a Private Press Life is Round and Private Press Cismic Echoes. Traded a 5 (not banana) for a Kane Tenth and an Only Void base stout. I literally never had any of those, but they sound good! I have that 2nd 3, but it was my favorite so I’m not ready to trade unless I get some more. Thanks everyone!
