Just finished up my 12 Gyrator bottles I got in early November and I want more. I may have a mule headed that way. Is it still easily available or did I miss my window of opportunity?

It's the closest non German doppel to Andechs I have found. Just did a blind taster with it, Trader Josephs, and Lupulins. All three are really very good but Gyrator is loaded with melanoidins and was a clear number one for not only me but the other two taking part in the tasting. I had Trader Josephs #2 as it was similar with the high melanoidins but dialed down a little comapred to NG.

I had this in a group setting a few months ago where I didn't take notes...but I quite loudly proclaimed the Andechs doppelbock the greatest beer I've ever had.

Most likely hyperbole, but I'm just throwing it out there.

This still some around but the supply is drying up. I bought some last weekend in Hudson at the Cellars. Chicones had none.

That is actually my belief as well. I found it about five years ago and bought all they had and it was the best purchase of my life. Haven't seen it since. One place in St. Paul gets it on draft on occasion but I am never in town when they do it seems.

I'll be in Hudson in about a week. I also have someone heading toward near Wausau.

Per the New Glarus beer finder, your mule may have good luck finding it in plenty of spots around Wausau. Depending on the amount ordered/placed, I don't see it moving that fast in smaller town Wisconsin.

Zap and the mule will find some, but it may take a few stops. Smaller liquor stores, gas stations/grocery stores off the main beaten path are worth a try if need be. Woodmans in Altoona had none on 12/12/2021.

I just saw in the hauls thread that I can get this locally. How serendipitous. I have not run across this before, but next week I am making a trip to go pick some up. (Do to location and size of store and their propensity to sell exciting items like rattlesnake, I will need a 2 hour block I’m sure…)

This is just one reason why I follow threads that aren’t in my area…
