It is always amazing to me how palate's differ, particularly when it comes to sugar. Especially, perhaps, when it comes to sugar, because it doesn't seem to be even across the board.

I've seen a number of people say that BCBS is sweet. I'm always like...dah fuck? Different palate's and all.

Dark Mode - revisited this last night. Might be the sleeper this year.

Maple Jacket - I’ll admit, I actually liked it. Almost like sipping a liquor. Proper mindset. BUUUTTT ….. my wife and I are splitting one right now and we both feel it’s not as syrupy as even a week ago. Hmmm. Maple fading?

Bigger picture - Rev is crushing it. As of right now, 10 variants still available EASILY online. Dayum they’re spoiling us. My friend who is admittedly a BCty fanboy told me this morning “yeah, pound for pound, Rev ruled this year”.

Temperature plays a role. If the beer is colder, your taste buds may be numbed to all but the most basic over the top flavors- e.g. sugar.

This just in - Dark Mode is freaking fantastic! Wow, this hits all the right notes for me. Silky chocolate, great barrel presence without being overwhelming, depth of flavor. It’s an all-around outstanding beer.

I really need to get some. Slacked on this latest release since most that I’m interested in have stuck around the taproom long enough. Stout season has rocked my wallet.

Anyone have any thoughts on Subz Hero? from the new variety pack? Im intrigued by cold IPAs, but am not sure its worth picking up the variety pack just for that one.

Had the Riverlands Cold IPA and it was good. Still not sure exactly what a cold IPA is though!?!

On the topic of the heroes we need, did DDH West Coast Hero ever get released in Oct/Nov? It's on their calendar but I don't recall ever seeing it get released.

This was my takeaway as well.

This latest release round was my least favorite so far but I still found myself loving Ryeway (this beer has improved leaps and bounds over the years, or maybe my palate has just warmed to it) and Dark Mode was very tasty too but I felt OK not grabbing a 4 pack.

Maple was honestly gross, but it happens.

I'm a bit surprised with all of the love for Lyontts over XOD. I thought the XOD was the best taproom only release of the year.

@GuyFawkes is still annoyed with me over this take.

Idk, Lynotts was just about perfect to my palate. *shrug*

I think I just taste the Jameson far more than I want to anytime Revolution uses Jamo-nilla in something. If everything else was present in the beer except for the Jameson, I'd probably love it instead of just like it.

If the power hadn't gone out at Rev that night we'd STILL be arguing about it!!
