Any chance of expanding this to non-California residents? I mean, why shouldn't we be able to opt out regardless of where we live? Is it only because of the law listed on that page that such an opt-out ability is even being offered at all?

I would like to opt out as well but as you’ve pointed out, California is the only state I know of that mandates this(which seems completely backwards to me given their politics) so I wouldn’t expect the rest of us to have the ability to do so. As one wise advocate once said, if the service is free, you are the product. Cheers.

BeerAdvocate is free to sell all my personal information, my BankAmericard and Montgomery Wards and Bamberger's credit card numbers, my birthday (11-11-1911), my SS# (123-45-6789), heck even the personal info of my wife (Alma Knott Kidden) and my kids (Huey, Dewey and Louie).

Why? What's it do ya? Why do ya wanna know? Kinda personal question, ain't it? If you know me you know it's written right on her dog bowl, the bone-shaped medallion on her collar and, of course, it's also the PIN to my 401K account.

I think we all owe @jesskidden a boatload of appreciation for the facts, figures and levity that he brings to these forums. He's always spot-on with his posts. Thanks, Jess! :+1::ok_hand::clap::heavymetal:

If there’s any chance the ruling class can continue to exploit it, don’t expect it any changes.

In fact this is true with effectively everything in crumbling States of America- Merry Christmas, y’all!

What about the first name of your favorite actor in "Easy Rider" and the day of manufacture of your Dad's Studebaker?

I hate to tell you but the amount of websites and services that have your personal information would truly stagger you if this is really your thought process. Every time you log into most websites they harvest your browsing history and all your personal info that goes along with it. More than likely the internet knows how old you are, your approximate height and weight, the contours of your face, all your likes, dislikes, and personal interests. This is the phenomenon known as “meta data” and many websites have admitted to the fact they track it, collect it, sell it, and warehouse it. It’s not even a conspiracy at this point. Cheers.

And... this was less intimidating than Nash Seats?

(I guess Sammy Johns made the Chevy Van more intimidating )
