cold IPA is basically a hoppy steam beer. Lager yeast, fermented at warmer than typical Temps for that yeast (but colder than typical for ale yeast) and then not lagered at all. It's a hoppy steam beer/California common

Yea I think you would. After having done both Cold IPAs and IPAs fermented with clean American Ale yeast, there's definitely a difference. The Cold IPA still has a cleaner, lager-ish profile despite being fermented warmer.

I just looked at my Ryeway to Heaven cans and they were filled on 11/19/20. I thought there was a recent drop of this but I guess not? Weird that this online shop had year old cans of it all of a sudden

Dammit same here! Didn’t even think to check originally when they were delivered. With Maple Jacket dropping simultaneously there was no reason to think it wouldn’t have been 2021.

    From the beer temple?
I mean I’m totally fine with it. Should be good with age on it

Yes, from the Beer Temple. Technically good with it, but try not to age ryeway bc it’s so great fresh. Had 1 can left from 2020 so was happy to be starting 2021, but I guess I’ve got some drinking to do.

Not surprised, and I meant to ask @eppie82 if his supermassive was 2020 or 2021. I found 2020 on the shelf in like…Almost October, long after 2021 was gone.

That doesn't sound quite right since the first canned Supermassive Cafe Deth was released on 6/19/20 and did not see distribution.
The second canning of Supermassive was released on 7/16/21 and did get limited distro.

I know, but Binny’s did a wierd drop. @flat_lander experienced the same thing, as it was actually at the C-U Binny’s. He was the one that let me know it was there, but I was actually the one that let him know that it was the 2020 dating on the box. At the time, I think I recall seeing another post about the same issue somewhere else, but I couldn’t tell you what store.

All true. I think one of our distributor holds stuff back or something until they deem fit. Sometimes the recent Rev release shows up right away. Sometimes it's months with no real rhyme or reason. This year's releases have shown up quicker (the Supermassive 2020 anomaly aside), but now we still haven't seen Ryeway. BA Expedition is the same. It's all over the state right now, both hitting other downstate locations weeks ago, yet my area's has yet to be released into the wild yet. I've stopped trying to understand it.

So I bought Ryeway when I was up north over Christmas. Drank one last night. Fantastic beer as always.

Mine is ’Filled’ June 30 2021, so definitely this year’s batch. Finished one after seeing your tag earlier. Nice creamy, smooth coffee. None of the green pepper mess I see from many others.

This one is worth seeking it out. I grabbed a couple of 4-packs, and I’m already regretting not tracking down more.

I hit the one Binny's I had time to stop at yesterday and it was all gone. Guys said they had a ton of it. I'll just have to be patient and wait for it to show here.

2020 Straight Jacket tastes like happiness dipped in caramel & honey right now.

If happiness doesn’t inherently taste like caramel and honey can it truly be considered happiness?

I can think of at least one thing that doesn’t taste like caramel or honey that is definitely happiness.
