Glad to hear it. Have you had a ChemTrailMix yet?

Not yet, but I've had a small pour of it at FOBAB a few years ago and loved it. Tempted to open my bottle tonight but we shall see.

The first time I tried it (draft pour at 2010 DLD) my mind was blown. I think the only vanilla BA beer I’ve had prior to that was OG Vanilla BCS (which was amazing in its own right). But vanilla BADL is by far still one of the best vanilla beers ever made. One of the few examples of excessive vanilla that works in my opinion. Just melds perfectly with the barrel without masking the base. And the name change to Marshmallow (Handjee) was almost too fitting.

I scored one this year but traded it for a Chem as I love that and have only had it a couple of times. Here’s to hoping Muerte makes a return in the future.

Please no more Muerte. I was really excited for that the first time I had it, but then and every time since (including Cognac) I can't help but taste an onslaught of what I can only describe as chipotle SpaghettiOs :joy:

    Definitely prefer Lounge.

I completely respect that opinion. I’m the rare person that loves a spicy heat in a stout. And some years of Muerte I had to (in the words of the great Snoop), back up off of it and sit my cup down. But when it was on, it was spot on. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying Lounge, but I can only imagine I’d love it.

Exactly, who said Dark Lord needs more cardamom?

I love a spicy stout, and drawing on the other old school Mexican stouts, I personally find Hunahpu's and Mexican Cake preferable to Abraxas because of their chile presence, as opposed to Perennial's cinnamon focus. I even preferred Xocoveza to Abraxas.

All that said, though, for some reason in DL it all came together for me as if there was a tomato sauce influence, and even a smokiness, hence the chipotle flavor. I like chipotle flavor in some things, but it's smoky savoriness can be overwhelming to my palate.

If they can find a happy medium with what they did with Lounge minus the additional ingredients, then I'd be all in. I'm just glad they dialed everything in this year and focused on sure things.
