Thankfully places let you buy singles, so not much harm done with a “bad” batch. Of course, even when I’m disappointed with NN I don’t find it to be “bad.” Just eh.

How much do your local beer retailers charge to just buy a single Nugget Nectar?
I agree 100%. A bad batch of Nugget Nectar does not taste bad, it is just disappointing in comparison to a good batch.

    Cheers!

No, you had it right the first time. Beer in this state as a whole is underwhelming, save for a few breweries.

Haven’t bought one this year (isn’t out in NJ yet I think) but last year was somewhere around $2 for a single can.

I would purchase a single at that price. At my local Wegman's supermarket I can purchase single beers of those beers they decide to place in the singles section but more like double that price for a single bottle/can. They do provide a 'discount' though for a mix-a-six (12 bucks for six).

    Cheers!

Considering a six pack is around $14 here a single would be in the $4+ range.

    Enjoy

I bought a 6 pack of the bottled NN, I feel this batch is better than last years. I remember thinking the batch 3 years ago was great, but I honestly can’t remember that far back to compare it to this one. I will say I drank 3 of them on the day I got them and I had no complaints.

I just got back from grocery shopping at my local Wegmans supermarket (King of Prussia) and I swung by the beer/wine section. They received a HUGE drop of Nugget Nectar:
    • Six-packs of bottles: BB 4/26/22
    • Twelve packs of cans: BB 4/28/22
It was not my intention to buy any beer today (lots of homebrew in the basement) but when I saw they discounted Troegs Mad Elf to $10 a six-pack I couldn't resist. Such a deal!!!

As I walked out of the store to my car I thought to myself: I should have purchased two six-packs.

If anybody has experience with either of the two batches I listed above please let me know what you think; especially whether that batch(es) has a very vibrant hop aroma.

    Cheers!

Stopped at my local store in Delaware county and these are the same two dates they received yesterday as well. I grabbed a 6-pack of the bottles.

For what it’s worth, the last couple years I have had both bottles and cans each year. In both cases I found the bottles to be better. Maybe batch coincidence, but who knows.

FWIW the last time I purchased Nugget Nectar (2+ years ago) I purchased two six-packs: one was bottles and the other cans. The bottles tasted great (vibrant hop aroma) while the cans were a dud in comparison (zero hop aroma and I do mean zero). At the time I just figured it was a difference of batches. Kinda weird that you had the exact same experience(s)?

    Cheers!

Exact same. Haven’t done the comparison yet this year, but I will be in the coming weeks.

I’ve also had better luck with the bottles the last couple years.

Still plenty of Mad Elf in my local store. I figure NN won't show up before the Mad Elf sells out. I might buy one more 12 pack to make that happen.

I am not a fan of Mad Elf but that is a great deal! And I did notice that it wasn't selling as well as years passed.

I personally have a challenging time here since I do not conscientiously track the supply aspect. How many six-packs (or other packs) did my local beer retailer (Wegmans in this case) receive in their first shipment? Did they receive subsequent shipments after the first drop? Are the beers 'leftover' because they ordered more beer this year vs. last(s)?

    Cheers!

P.S. As regards Nugget Nectar there are two BIG stacks on the floor of six-packs (bottles) and twelve-packs (cans). I will try over the next weeks to 'monitor' the depletion of these two BIG piles.
