I felt like Michael immediately raised the bar at Spider City when he joined and look forward to what he does with Funky Fauna.

I was lucky to meet Mark and Dana Henion while they were at Boneyard and have high hopes for Van Henion.

Fun fact: if you return to Bend with a uhaul full of competition entries and discover the overnight temps might freeze all the beer, Mark and Dana may save the day by letting you park in the original Boneyard building, including leaving home after a long work day and driving in a snowstorm to let you in.

Nice to have an update on the Breakside location in Beaverton. No progress has been visible at the lot since last summer, except for a sign I spotted mid-December which announced a "Public Meeting On A Preliminary Development Proposal."

I'll be happy to have them in the neighborhood. But at this point I'll believe it when I see it.

This is great news IMHO. My wife frequently goes over there to shop, and usually I dread going with her. Maybe not any more.

Why do I sense that you're going to play the Good Husband and not just accompany her, but also encourage her? Or maybe I'm projecting...

You're projecting just a bit. However, I did mention the recent opening to her, and enthusiastically advised her that in the future, I'll be very happy to accompany her the next time she wants to go to DSW or Soft Surroundings.

Something seemed to happen after they razed the old building there. Not sure if the neighborhood and other businesses started to object to having it replaced with a beer garden and food carts. I'm wondering if Breakside is now moving forward with building an actual taproom or pub instead of the beer garden.

Seems like yes to the pub, but the food carts will be there as well. Matt’s BBQ keeps teasing on Instagram.

I think it's both. The article says "Breakside is now planning to put in an upscale American tavern and private events space with it’s own deck, right next to an open air beer garden and up to 6 food carts."

Nice article i missed. Taking some risks, but what is life without possible failure? Very interested in the Funky Flora place in Siaters, and nice to see Wild Ride moving into Prineville, for totally selfish reasons as i plan more camping in that direction this year, and i miss Ochoco Brewing

I wish I could say I was excited about this, but draft Notorious has not been good for a while now. It's a shell of its former self, which makes me sad.

I've heard that. I think I've only had it once so can't really speak to it, but I wonder if being brewed and canned on the Deschutes system will make any difference?

I last had it in November, and according to my untappd comment, that batch was better than the previous few I'd had. But it still didn't live up to the best batches of its inception up till about 2016-17 or so. I can only assume the batch I had in November was brewed at Deschutes, but I have not way of verifying that.

I hope so, but as I said, I would assume the batch I had in November was a Deschutes batch, and it certainly wasn't its old self. I'm hopeful it'll return to form, but we'll see. I'll certainly pick up some cans when I see them.

Was checking the old NW wbaydn thread, and that's when I last had it as well. So likely the same batch.

It wasn't awful, but I was glad I only got a 5 ounce pour. It was overly sweet to my palate, and seemed out of balance.

One thing I've noticed... Taprooms that get kegs of notorious now, typically can expect to see it stay on tap for weeks at a time. Back in the 2016 and 2017 years, it is was surprising if it lasted a couple of days (and taphouses we're asked not to sell growlers of it).

    That's probably not a coincidence.
