    A new day on the West Coast. Still think Hawaii midnight should demarcate the new day, but going off the customs as established by others here.

    New to me brewery and beer to kick off Wednesday, January 26th. Funded by my $60 9/6 JOB Pure Profit from the Kate hours of Tuesday.

    Flensburger Pils

    The Silver Stamp Notes:     16 oz $8 draft into a mug.

    Appearance: Light clear straw colour pour. Creamy white head leaves generous cover. 3.75

    Aroma:     Faint salt pepper and cracker, very light. 2.75

    Taste:     Consistent with aroma though slightly stronger. OK. 2.75

    Mouthfeel:     Wafer think, nominal carbonation, dry, easy drinking, slightly stronger than water. 3.25

    Overall:     Mediocre Pilsner. A rare miss at The Silver Stamp. 2.75

    Silver Flensburger Pils
    Bronze Spuds (Did not drink)

    Spuds trumps all. If this was a weekend, I would have waited for legend @MattyG85 to leave his mark.

    It’s headed toward -7 F in Chicago, so glad I’m not there.

    They swapped out the previous beer because this bar is awesome. Going with a haze my brother liked yesterday.

    Modern Times Terebellum

    The Silver Stamp Notes: $8 16 oz draft, 6.3% abv, shaker pint glass.

    Appearance: Hazy darker orange juice pour, creamy white head leaves fine thin lacing. 4.0

    Aroma:     Citrus, tangerine, lemon pine, medium to strong, pleasant. 3.75

    Taste:     Consistent with aroma, nice balanced pour, citrus, lemon sweetness balanced by a pleasant bitterness, dry as British humor and a martini. A “haze” in my wheelhouse. 4.25

    Mouthfeel:     Dry and bitter overall, piney bitterness slays the citrus and tangerine. Light and easier than the 6.3% ABV. 4.0

    Overall:     This is a solid balanced haze from Modern Times, full of flavor, nicely balanced, more dry than anticipated, works put well. Would definitely grab another. 4.25



    Edit:     Live music, my favorite song when I was three, still love it near 50 years later.

    Happy chilly Wednesday BA's....a whopping 12 degrees with 3 for the wind chill - here on the frozen North Coast.....brrrr!

    Found this while poking around the beer cellar in the basement - canned Dec 2019 - still packing a (13%) punch and aging well - I think there is 1 or 2 more left.....yum!

    You know it, my tiny Finnish bird-friend. Have been digging these NAs not as a way to go cold-turkey but to "flatten my beer curves" (in more ways than one) and to build in some healthier habits.
    It's hard sometimes, but I dig these, more than I thought I ever would.
