A couple of old beach/beer commercials where the location made some sense:
Henry Weinhard drinkers enjoying a typical afternoon on the Oregon coast (in my younger days, I spent many "vacation" days in similar circumstances).

There was an Oly commercial in the early 70s celebrating beach touch football: Olympia. Official beer of the Stinson Beach Chargers. I didn't find a clip of that one.

 

Been drinking Yards loyal lager, low $3? range a case.

$3 a case? You buying off the back of a truck in an alley? The Yards website is selling Loyal Lager for $35 a case.

I'm starting to recognize the validity of this observation.

Nah, when it comes to beer I'm a polytheist (learning toward agnosticism when it came to Honey Brown).

 

The local store has 15 packs of jacks Abby house lager for about 16$, and still has Von trapp helles and Pilsner 12 packs for about 14$. Amazing.

 

Bit of a follow-up; stopped at TJ's for some pantry goods on Friday. The only Josephsbrau beers on the shelf were the Plzner and Hefeweizen.

Sort of disappointing. The somewhat odd thing being a deeply stocked end-cap of the Plzner. Closeout? Don't know, but there wasn't a sale price, as such.

 

I’ve found an import at the liquor store from time to time. It’s from the Czech Republic, it’s a Pilsner called Praga. I got a 12 pack of 500ml for $11.75

 

Are they still using green bottles? Hopefully the 12 pack is covered to keep the light out -- it's a decent Pilsner when it's not skunked.

 

This has been my after work gas station beer for a while. They have a black can that is really good too. Can’t recall the name. Cheers.

I do. But I haven’t bought the 12 pack as of yet. So far I’ve only had it in the mixed 12 it first came in.

 

If there is an Aldi store, you might find Wernesgrüner Pilsner. I'm loving what we are now getting in 500 ml cans.
