This is one dimensional, but really tasty. I think I will head over and kick off New Beer Weekend. Cheers all.

 

Good day BAs! Thanks to @AzfromOz for starting today's thread! I hit it lucky today - the best beer of the year, to date!



Somebody (I think maybe @WesMantooth, apologies if it was someone else) sent me a Jackie O's a couple of years back, and I've been hooked ever since. Using walnuts in the brew mix was a stroke of genius - totally unexpected layers of flavor and aroma. Yeah, I'll be drinking a LOT of Jackie O's now that I can have them shipped to me. Great brew! Rating 4.42. rDev -0.9%.

My Saturday morning beer is Bud.

 

Weekend grocery and recycling run done. Shivering out the wind-blast chill with a cup o’ joe nearing completion, so time to transition with a coffee beer.


Also accidentally created a fountain whilst cleaning up from last night.

 

Warsteiner Dunkel.

best by date of September 2022 so let’s get it.
This beer is fresh. But the one thing I will say is that the classic German bitterness is fighting with the chocolate espresso type flavors of the Dunkel. It’s strange. Both flavors are 50/50 at the same time. It’s good. But kind of strange. I have honestly had better Dunkel made in the US. Blasphemy no. Balance yes. Happy to have this fresh but for my liking it’s very in your face and a Dunkel shouldn’t be that.



Sister birthday so allowing myself so cheat food with this leftover half of a humongous sheet pan sausage pizza I made that I like to call Old Forge/ Scranton style pizza for those Pa people. It tastes like White Castle I don’t hate it. Lots of minced onions here.


after 13 days of work in a row driving a snow plow and servicing vehicles etc etc. after making donuts for a snow storm guy at work are convinced me and encouraging me to make and sell pizza to them. Crazy to me after losing my business plan to the pandemic. This could be the start of things.

 

Found this at Redstone Liquors in Stoneham Mass yesterday, canned on 2/2/22. A really solid NEDIPA. Heading over to New Beer Weekend to brake it down.

Good morning BAs! The wife’s yard sale fizzled at about 8am when the rain came and I had to put everything back under roof or in garage. Mrs. Z has gone back to bed…I’m enjoying my morning coffee - “Happy Alone” an oat stout from Anchorage Brewing Company with coffee, Tahitian vanilla beans, cinnamon and milk sugar:






No canning date. Arrived in yesterday’s Tavour box. Poured at 52°. Very strong coffee nose. Bitter coffee/roast taste; bittersweet dark chocolate. Bitter coffee finish and aftertaste. Not as well balanced as FBS. Still, quite tasty, especially if you like strong coffee stouts. Great can art. Cheers y’all!

The brewery makes great beers, imo, and their artwork is up there with Burial, and Angry Chair. Cheers!

 

I like Drekker’s art work too! I wonder if we’ve ever had a thread devoted to beer label art? I’m too lazy to look, but I bet one of us BAs knows off the top of their head. Cheers M and have a great day!
