Have you had what I’m currently drinking? I’m not sure if they send this one to distro outside of south Jersey.

We have the Wisconsin cheesesteak cow race. The cow who wins the race, we milk, then make cheese. The cows who lose the race become steak.

You definitely should, it seems to rotate through pretty often. Their new brewery is gorgeous and if you want to go to the original spot it is only about 5 minutes down the road. Hope you get a chance to go, you’ll enjoy.

Having a big :whale: tasting for my birthday with some friends. Side Project BBT ‘19 and ‘21. I think the ‘19 takes the cake but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the ‘21. The ‘19 is more chocolate and smoother, while the ‘21 is more barrel character and dark fruit. I’m the winner in the end. Cheers!

Kind of a bogus Saturday dealing with car shit. Then coached my son’s basketball team (that was fun at least, even though they lost). Now it’s time to relax. Kane bourbon barrel aged Morning Bean. This is what they do best. So good. Cheers!

    Schilling Modernism

    From a pint can marked 110121 0006311479

Poured into my shaker pint glass this lager is a clear dark brown with ruby highlights and a creamy ecru head. Head drops to a ring and a skim but leaves plenty of lace.

Scent is chocolate and toffee with a kiss of herbal hops and a hint of roast.

Taste is toffee and caramel malt, pilsener malt and mild roasted qualities. Chocolate malt. Malt sweetness balanced well by the hops. Hint of lemon. An interesting cola note. Dark bread crust. Toast. Dark fruit - plum? A hint of black licorice. A touch of hop spiciness.

Mouth is a crisp medium with a slightly higher carbonation.

    Excellent drinkability.

My first review of the Czech dark lager style. Lots of malt and some nice complexity. Spicy herbal hops. Crisp clean finish. Another great lager from Schilling. Want to try more of this style.
