Kern is the premier West Coast IPA brewery in California. Hands down.

 

Kern Citra has been on my wants list for a decade it seems. Are they still brewing it?

 

Yep. Had it on draught yesterday.

 

last batch was brewed in November I believe. Still see cans sitting around at Bay Area bottle shops

2x per year. They ship to CA residents. Get yourself a buddy to ship you a case. Quick and easy since they're cans. Could get it to CO within 7 days of canning pretty easily. It doesn't sell out anymore. No more BS beer nerd hype like 10 years ago but the beer is just as good.

 

Ill be in Monterey/ Pacific Grove in a few weeks and wonder if any retail outlets in that area carry KRBC. I emailed them a while back for possible distributors in that area but havent heard back. TIA.

 

Hmm....hopefully you are! I know I've ordered at least 3 batches. This all started with the Coof..... but with it gone I hope they continue. I do love going up to the brewery and still will.

 

Man I loved the Winter ale. Can they just make it now and call this version Spring ale?

I've seen a LOT of CA brewers shipping to CA only. What are the reasons for this? Is there something legally prohibiting the shipment of beers out of CA?
I ask because I'd love to ship your beers to my face. In copious amounts.

 

I think it's just that CA shipping is fairly simple while out of state is extra legwork for every other state. And with Cali being such a large market i think a lot of breweries don't see it being worth the effort.

That's just a guess though. Is it common for CO breweries to ship to multiple states?

 

I just ordered some Zombie Dust from Half Time beverage in NY. A case was $20 to ship to San Diego. GLS can do it legally.

 

I'm not sure. I've never checked. Burial was shipping to CO, as we're a few other breweries as well as tavour, half time, best damned beer shoo etc. I wasn't sure if it was a legality in the state of CA that prevented the shipping of beer outside of the state.
