There she is! Shame the forecasted mid 50s temps dropped to 40s. Would’ve been a nice day to drive up to Charlton

Reconsidering my options for a TH visit. First time visit, btw.
Would you go to Deerfield or Charlton?
Plan is to get there around opening, grab a beer or two and a case or 6, and then drive up to Portland.

Not knowing the route you are taking from Virginia I would suspect Charlton is the more convenient location on your way to Portland.

I think they've mostly good to great, with the caveat that I think the blends are a way better deal and in some cases better beers outright:

Blend 2: Had an incredible can of it, thought it was very good revisiting it on tap in the fall
Persist: Incredible, among best beers they've ever made
    Brownie: Very good, but overpriced
Mint Brownie: Very good, but overpriced
Tree of Life blended: Gross, one of 2 legitimately bad TH beers I've had in the last few years
Tree of ?? (forget what this was called, whichever one they were selling at xmas time in 2020: Awesome, probably worth the full $18. Only bad deal in comparison to the halcyon days of BCBBarleywine 2013/14
This year's version of that: also very good

Feel like I'm missing some I've had. In general I'm a big fan, but I don't love the whole 12 oz for $18 at one per person thing - think they've got some work to do on the price, scale, or both there.

Ha, I really enjoyed tree of life blended (b3).

I don’t mind 12oz bottles, I think it’s a good serving size, for a ba stout or barleywine. I agree on the price point being a bit high at 18$ for 12oz. Persist might be my favorite stout, and I don’t mind its price point,

I had nascent truth a few days before I had bbt 21, while I enjoyed bbt 21 more, I didn’t think nascent was too far behind. I sort of enjoyed the shorter barrel time.

I'll be heading there tomorrow. I'm hoping the bottle will still be available. I think it'll be ok

I bet some people won't realize this is BA Good Morning because it's called something completely different...

if it’s anything like their most recently couple bottle releases you should be good for a week or two.

I’m also gonna head up in hopes of getting two with my girl. One to crack soon and one to cellar for a bit

Deerfield definitely out of the way. Charlton should be basically right on the way presuming you will be on 84 to Mass Pike.

Yeah, I definitely think it will make it through the weekend.

I’m curious to see how I enjoy wall of sound.

I think this batch of Treat is outstanding

I think I probably just got a bad bottle, I'm sure it happens. It was also b2 I think.

If I remember right, Persist was $10 for the 12 ozers...steal.

Wish they posted the canning dates on the order page... I get why they don't, though. How old is the King Julius in 12oz 6-packs? I feel like it's stuck around longer than usual

TY, I'm being super neck-beardy by going through their twitter timeline and making a spreadsheet. For the money it's going to cost, I just want to know

I think it must have been a bad bottle. I had Tree of Life Blended batches 2 & 3 and really liked both. If I recall, they were both also steals at $10 for 500ml (I think...).

Batch 2 was 12oz bottles I think, and it was amazing (I still have one left that I've been holding onto to see what time does to it). Batch 3 was in 500ml bottles and was good, but was a little too sweet and it had an apple note that I don't remember being in batch 2. I miss the 12oz bottles but whatever.

Some of these lagers are a few months old which I'm not sure matters too much. I want to try the Kellerbier (Quaint) and the Vienna Lager (Idle Mind). Going back and forth between Trail Simcoe and Amarillo

I'm with ya. I would prefer all my beers to be in 12 oz formats.

That’s what I did to grab the info. Of course and I agree. I’ve been eying it too.

For what it’s worth, I loved Idle. This is going back to winter of last year. I’d imagine that’s a new batch? Got Quaint at the same time and preferred Idle. These were Sept/Oct ‘21 can dates.

    I avoid dry hopped lagers.
