I couldn’t find a thread from last year. But I mostly created this to shout out their residency of black owned breweries they are doing. https://www.chicagotribune.com/dini...QsCbzUV03DC1hflLoTvc25EyEbtaZj1gn1rNCZKukrvIU Went last night and really enjoyed, honey ale was the group favorite with grapefruit lager close behind. Also Haymarket had their BA doppelbock on tap and wow was it good
I'm speechless: https://moorsbeer.com/ Weren't the Moors followers of Islam where alcohol was forbidden?
Seems to be two schools of thought, here. From Moor's Brewing Co. website: IN 711 A.D. , TARIQ IBN ZIYAD LED MOORS OF BERBER DECENT ACROSS THE STRAIT OF GIBRALTAR BETWEEN AFRICA AND EUROPE – CONQUERING SPAIN FOR THE NEXT 700 YEARS. THEY INTRODUCED NEW SCIENTIFIC TECHNIQUES TO THE EUROPEAN CULTURE, INCLUDING A DISTILLATION AND FERMENTATION PROCESS THAT PRODUCED WHAT THEY CALLED AL-KUHL. THIS BEER PAYS HOMAGE TO THE RICH UNTOLD HISTORY OF OUR AFRICAN ANCESTRY AND THE “ORIGINAL CRAFTSMEN” THAT MADE IT HAPPEN. https://africacheck.org/fact-checks/fbchecks/no-alcohol-doesnt-come-arabic-word-body-eating-spirit However, if the beer is good I really don't care. I'll give 'em a shot!
Every religion has different denominations/sects. Look at Christianity where some say drinking is forbidden while others brew beer in their holy places
Claire's Thirsty is the cat's pajamas. I would take that over any Phase Three/Mikerphone etc hype stout.
