If anyone is looking for Fremont barrel stuff from '20 & :21, the Bevmo in Bham has a nice selection. BBADS, B-Bomb, Spice Wars, etc. No Brew X000 though.

A new taphouse here in Hamsterville had an industry preview last night, and opens for the public today. Time and Materials Taphouse, is on the southern edge of Downtown, near the Flatstick. It's right by the new huge student apartments, so I suspect that those folks are their likely target. I've gotta work tonight, but I'll swing by over the weekend and report back. Here's their opening taplist:

I'm on a text thread with some of my friends, and todays topic is Structures bottle club. Not sure how many drops a year there are, but you get 3 bottles per drop. The price is now at $400/year. Is that in line with other memberships?

Fort George's is also that price and you get 24 bottles/year. So hopefully there are 8 drops or so?

For Deschutes I pay $200/year (two drops) and get 8-9 bottles each drop.

This is also the last year of the Structures bottle club, fyi.

Pretty in line with Floodland. A bottle release every quarter for the included price and the option to buy extra bottles.

I just heard back: 4 drops x 3 bottles each = about $33/bottle. Supposedly there are "other benefits" but they don't say what they are (at least a glass I think). 2 guys aren't gonna renew, and 1 is, but just because he had a bunch of overtime at work.

Apparently they were selling older club bottles at the brewery over the weekend in the $38-40 range per bottle.

I split a Floodland membership with NWer one year, and neither of us thought we got fair value, so we didn't renew.

Floodland's Oakworks got really expensive and after a couple years I just dialed back to only taking part in the public sale offerings, which is plenty of beer throughout the year (there are 3-4 public sales per year at the very least) and doesn't hurt financially nearly as much. I always felt like I needed to max out on the extra offerings and my wallet was hurting. The beer is absolutely fantastic and I'm ok with the per bottle pricing, but I just didn't want to spend as much as I was. The public sale is a great balance.

As a hobby, I often scan newspapers from around the region, and country. The headline in todays Tri-City Herald, is that a brewery to be named Big Iron is going to opened on a site that was apparently used as part of a scam of some sort. I thought @rrock44 and @woemad would be interested in this development.

Curious about the scam part as much as a new brewery coming in.

Do you have a link for that? Thus far I'm not finding any info.

I read through the Bellingham Library website, so it takes my library card. Maybe try going through the papers website?

Well, on my lunch break I did a google search under the name you posted and came up with a brewery in MA. I doubt it, but I suppose it could be a Melvin - in - Bellingham type situation, with an owner originally from central WA. It'd be weird, but not unheard of. An Anacortes coffee roaster has (or did have in 2010, when I was there) an outpost in Murray, KY.
