Agreed. They need to release Savage Flo again. Such a great beer.

German style beers were always part of their identity, and they do them REALLY well. Hops and stouts made them a name nationally, but I think the European stuff is what gets them excited.

Yeah, they have been packaging Gorch Fock & Calumet Queen for years, as well as their Oktoberfest, all three great beers. And almost always had a good pilsner or other European lager on tap at the brewpub.

My "source" is a guy I know who works in the brewery, who just happened to sit down next to me at my local. He didn't describe it as a pilsner, but as a clean, crisp lager. He also said that it was less "not normal" than the usual 3 Floyds hoppy game.

I'm curious on what this beer actually is.

Fwiw, 3 Floyds did previously release Speed Castle on draft and in the post-lock down Red Stripe bottles. I would take it with a huge grain of salt, but marks on Untappd are low. It even has six ratings on BA. It is not a new beer unless they changed the recipe.

Agreed! Speed Castle is welcome news. I enjoyed the bottles I had last summer.

It seems that way. They are missing out on the value of a taproom and DLD. If 3 Floyd's never did Dark Lord Day who knows where they would be.

Man Splits was an amazing beer

I was at the pub last night. Got a case of Cocomungo for me and my buddies.. I'm a straight beer + barrel drinker and never want coconut, maple, etc in my stouts..

But FFF is so refined I trusted the OGs to pull it off and the maple and coconut is more a nice accent to what really tastes like a chocolate stout and neither flavor really comes to the forefront.

They took the components and made just amazing stout, where if you didn't know better you may not know coconut and maple was in it.. in a good way. Amazingly nuanced. Solid barrel on the end. You won't regret buying it.

Got a growler of KGII pale ale and it's you4 classic FFF pale. Flawless and simple

The employees said 3 new beers being released this week too. He said one would be growler/crowler and Hurcanrana was just released in that format today so maybe the next releases will be packaged..

I like this business model.. which other OG breweries from the 90s are banging out barrel aged 4 packs that would have been $40 bomber years ago? And doing it with this pace of producing and packing and keeping think they're hitting their stride again with new ideas that end up being showstoppers. Stone, Founders, Bell, etc are what they are at this point.

FFF their stamp on quality and they're cranking out bangers left and right now. Closing the pub didn't affect their commitment to consistent, crisp, clean beer and creativity

BTW Cocomungo is better than Crushing Mass. Im a coffee stout guy and not a coconut beer guy but the Killer smurfs brought the heat

I mean, all of those breweries you listed put out extremely reasonably priced Barrel aged beers.

It has some lager flavor at first with unique fruityness to it. I got dunkle vibes, but it was definitely not banana. It’s very syrupy for a Pilsner. If you like sugar, this is a great beer.

Had a Brian Boru tonight. Solid but not one I'll seek out; a bit too dry for me.

Thank you for attending the "GuyFawkes' unhelpful, unnecessary post" hour.

I prefer to think of it as the beer advocates rebuttal to the state of the union.

Didn't have last year's Hurricanrana , but this batch does not taste like 3 Floyds typical sours and is lacking the enamel demolishing acidity they normal have. This one reminds me more of what I would imagine a 2021 New Glarus Fruit Punch sour would taste like- very sweet with enough tartness to keep it interesting. I don't want to like this, especially because they seem to be pushing it as a mixer for their whiskey, but it is refreshing.
