Apologies to all who had the over at this point, but despite kicking off today's thread, I'm just now getting to only my second beer of the day! :astonished:

What I may lack in quantity today, however, I think I've made up for in potency.

    Cheers!

I have pictures of the Rockies and this picture easily competes in terms of beauty. Cheers!

I believe I started this conversation with my Darkness on the Edge of Town homage to Surly Darkness yesterday, but I would rank the Top 5 as follows:
    1. Born To Run
    2. Greetings from Asbury Park
    3. The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle
    4. Born in the USA
    5. Darkness on the Edge of Town
    6. The River

Seems lately that lunch has been a bit on the wet side. Cheers Beer friends!

Monkish “Beyond Atomically.” This was pretty dank and juicy.

Agreed. They are both delicious. It's hard to stop at one.

Now that you mentioned Tree House, I will have a 3-day comparison between these two and King Julius coming up. I already know that ain't nobody that can beat Heady Topper but I will do it anyway. Chicagoland has such a great beer scene by the way. I need to come back (lived there for many years) to see what is new.

Totally agreed. There is a link between Heady and the concept of NEIPAness but not in the way most perceive it.

Very well said sir. Glad you had some Heady recently. The new formula of Heady is making it far superior to the way it was before. If you asked me 3-4 years ago I would have said that Heady and SoS were on par, or even that SoS was better.

Let me know when. I am already looking for gaps in my schedule for a sneaky drive up north.

I love Second Fiddle too. For some reason it falls behind these two for me even though I would pick it over 99% of other DIPAs out there. Cheers!

I have yet to make a weekend trip up there with my partner, but it's on the short list of things to do, probably this Spring.

Time to rid these out of the fridge.

This beer really started to grow on me, lovely orange rind & honeydew melon notes.

7.7% and effortlessly smooth with balanced hop bitterness.

    Sig Brewing Co. -- Quatturodecuple
14 x dry hopped quadruple hazy IPA

Translucent, tangerine orange body; thin, patchy, sudsy head. Citrus rind aroma; a bit of orange, very faint. Slightly resinous, citrus-like taste; strong bitterness; huge phenol presence. Heavy body; prickly; acidic; semi-dry with a bit of a juicy element to the mouthfeel.

Despite the marketing hype, I don't get any bold, innovative dry-hopped pizzazz, and the malt-base seems a bit thin for the amount they supposedly used. Drinkable yet unremarkable.

What makes you say heady isn’t an neipa? I’m not saying it is, I have no clue as to what makes a beer a neipa (or any other style, for that matter). I’m just curious as I’ve long thought heady was the first big time neipa out there.
