I dont know about anyone else, but with my box I really wanted to send my target some nice stuff and it took at least 2 weeks to get everything together. This BIF is a little different than many others, due to the size of the hauls and the fact you have no idea you need to get a box together until you have a bomb dropped on your porch. Im sure Im not the only ones with 3 kids under the age of 6 and a full-time job...that makes it tough to find time to shop and pack.

My advice would be just to be patient and roll with it, I dont think you can/should force someone to have to turn the box around in a week.

I don't think a time deadline is the solution, but communication within the thread is A MUST. I hope someone blows up my porch, but either way, I am going to crack the concrete. I plan on bombing them with locals, maybe some cellared shit, and lots of local swag. Then you will know what's nice about upstate ny other than we get a shitload of snow.

I agree with Shrek: communication is key. I hate when I am in a BIF or trade and nothing is said or things are promised and they don't happen. Just let me know what's going on please.

That said, I love this BIF even though it might be the most boring of all time!

I hear you guys, and upon second thought I guess 7-10 days may not fly for most. I'm on the same boat as you, Twigg...two young boys, two dogs (one is a rescue currently destroying our house), new job, etc...but I promise to crush someone, and quickly when its my turn.

Back in JUNE I joked about crushing a porch for XMAS - let's treat this BIF with some urgency. It has been over 1 month since the box landed. That should be plenty of time to hunt/gather/hint. Let's DO THIS!

Challange accepted. Time for the creator of this BIF to get off his broke back ass and get this going.
    Love to you and yours.

Oh man...believe me when I tell you I want no visual memories of the destruction.

To date we've got: two sets of custom blinds (a third is damaged, but not enough to have to toss), two curtains, three brand new leases and/or harnesses, one sheer, two dog crates, three expensive jackets, countless blankets/towels/etc, two throw rugs, multiple packs of pull-ups...paper towels...TP, dozens of toys, stuffed animals, you name it.

Throw in the adoption fee, anxiety medication, vet bills, a couch FULL of piss, the constant cleanup and the posessive/territorial growling at our three year which is usually followed my submissive peeing when a grab him and throw him out of the house...and I can tell you its been a LONG 4 months of hell.

We think he is turning the corner though. The heavy duty dog crate we just ordered will keep him contained during the day going forward. Its pretty bad when you leave for work in the morning with the dog not only in the crate, but also barracaded in the kitchen, yet he finds a way to flip the crate, escape, and then destroy shit the entire day. I want to see that little fucker do that with this new crate. If he can get out of this one he derserves to eat the blinds.

Yep. I think my new boss would encourage beer shipments...so he can expect me to share with him.

In all fairness, I don't think Barley is 100% to blame for the couch full of piss. I'm pretty sure I might have contributed to that at some point.

omg, I thought this BIF was boring before, now it's a dog forum?

PS: Lobo, you were right, this is a lot more fun than lurking.

I'm sorry if Stu and I set a bad tone way back in February when it took us a few weeks (a month?) to ship. We were communicative, just slow. I think if we were still set to receive we'd be setting aside bottles and glassware to prepare, with a plan to grab IPAs and maybe make a few switches as needed when it came our way. Especially when the theme of this is YOU in a box.
Good luck keeping it moving, though, and have fun!

Also, I choose to convert it to cat forum!
