Checked out the scene tonight (well, late afternoon). Snagged a draft of the Irish Stout and Wowee Zowee.

The stout was fantastic, could have sat there and drank three at least. Grabbed a four pack for home.

Wowee Zowee was damn good (12 Plato Czech Pale Lager), they used New Zealand hops, but they almost came off as more herbal/grassy/bitter. So don’t think Jack’s Abby IPLs. Such a beautiful smelling and tasting hop profile. And of course snagged a four pack of the 12th anniversary.

Such a great vibe for St. Patrick’s Day with the “vendor crawl” going on. They had it set up as usual for these events in which you can take your beer wherever. And you could check in at 8 stations and I believe collect a prize somewhere.

Tipping Cow and Bellwether are now open, and a craft store. The Sake bar looks complete and has a really nice set up over in the corner.

Very Irish type vibe too with the cooler damp weather, Irish music, and people sessioning Dry Irish Stouts.

I drove by around 6 with thoughts of grabbing a quick half liter and cans but no joy on parking ☹️

    Definitely going tomorrow afternoon!

Grabbed 11th and 12th anniversary and SLT stout from Salem yesterday. The anniversaries are great. Stout is just OK. Little thin. Little light on taste

Yes. Last time we were at the Salem tap room they were playing one of my favorites, The Flying Burrito Brothers. Made me happy before even getting a beer.

I left after 6 I think and saw some street parking. That's where I parked.

Some dip shit(s) was parked over the line so you couldn't fit in the spot next to it in the Notch lot. Not cool given the event going on and a packed parking lot.

Couldn't tell if it was because one person parked off kilter and then every other car had to adjust.

That’s a tight parking lot. I’ve parked between cars before and then realized on the way out that I was crooked and looked like an asshole.

Mine was delivered this morning. I'm stuck at work might have my bro open it and see what's inside.

Warning: First World Problem Rant by Entitled Dude
Dear UPS, as you may know, some of us have returned to the office (or in my case, never really left the lab).
Why in a god’s name do you think it’s appropriate to try to deliver alcoholic goods that require a 21+ person signature at 2:17 in the afternoon? Twice.
And why does it cost $17 to change the delivery location?
And why can’t I pick it up at a UPS site tonight?

Yeah that beer alone was worth the price of admission.

I used to work for UPS. Get to know the driver on the route. Explain to them that they can forge your signature and leave the package. Trust me they want to leave it there.

    Thanks for the info.
We seem to change drivers about quarterly.
Can't blame them, traffic in our neighborhood SUCKS.
Last guy knew to come later, pre-signed, and just handed it to me.
Again, just a silly rant about me not having tios beer tonight. Nothing about delivery drivers, they bust their asses.
Also, I have 2 packs of Tenner in the fridge. I'll he fine!

That parking lot is tough. Definitely a lot of folks who just pull in and get out and don't try to get in between the lines. Definite domino effect as @EnronCFO said.

I wonder how much The Roadrunner opening up is going to change weeknights. The Roadrunner's drink prices are terrible (which I knew from a coworker beforehand). I went to Brato before the show and it was slammed. I wonder if Notch will see a similar uptick.

You CAN switch to a UPS Access Point location like Michael’s. I’ve done it 3 or 4 times. It’s $5.99 a package or you can pay a blanket $20 for a year for as many boxes as you want. I had to hunt around on the website to figure this out. Look into it. They certainly don’t make it easy. I also think the requirement for a 21+ signature is a Massachusetts law rather than a UPS-created policy. I could be wrong about that, but that’s what I believe.

Notch had a line to the street from 4:30ish until I left at 6:45 tonight. Nice weather brings everyone to the beer garden. I imagine Roadrunner will have a pretty meaningful pre show spillover, although Brato having food and being so close gives them an advantage in that department. But good luck getting an Uber on a show night.
