Okay, I know damn well that hardly none, if any of you tell FedEx that you are shipping beer...so what do you put down as commodity and value?:astonished:

Just curious about this as I am relatively new to trading, but so far have just put a random value ($20 or so) on the package and said it was cider or something like that.

I've had marinades, BBQ sauce, and yeast samples all sent to me with no issue, though I personally would be cautious using "yeast samples".

Very nice. I looked for something like this and couldn't find anything. Appreciate the help!

I never fill out the commodity section. I drop my boxes off at the mailroom where I work and they never ask. The only time I've been asked was when they were trying to trace a lost trade box for me and I told them it was homemade marinades and salad dressings. As for value, I ballpark what the contents are worth since I figure that's how much I'll get back if they lose the box or somehow damage and discard it without realizing what's inside.

I print labels at home from my Fedex account and drop them off. I don't think the online UI even asks about contents, or it's optional. I barely interact with the employees at the store at all. "Hey there, this is all ready to go" "Okay, thanks".

yea they really dont ask, there is a spot on the form, but its not important. If anything just put down 0 for the declared value and continue. They usually make you pay if you put down a value, Insurance

Why would you declare anything less than $100 when there is no charge for that amount or less. It's not insurance BTW, it's declared value. There is a difference. They don't really care about contents if its less.

As mentioned above, Just print your labels on-line and drop off.

I've sent like 100 boxes and have literally no idea what this commodity form is that you speak of.

Literally every FedEx order form (which has to be filled out to send any package) has a section for U.S. Customs (which is odd since I do not ship internationally) in which the sender must declare the commodity and it's estimated value. I tried to leave it blank the first time I shipped a trade out, but the FedEx employee informed me that it was required.

Yeah, you want to do this: create an online account (you will also save like 20% with this), fill out the form online (no commodity/value questions), print out label, stick on box, drop off box.
