I typically always stock a lager or Pilsner along with ipas and stouts, in the fridge. Ipas are typically always tree house, and lagers are usually Von trapp or jacks Abby. I think tree house is absolutely on par with vt and ja, but I rarely buy cans because of the price point. I think free to roam is definitely a good buy for the price, though. That’s not to say, tree house lagers arent fairly priced, compared to other breweries, but I think it’s hard to beat a 15 pack for 17$

Counterweight Workhorse can be found as low as $10 a 4 pack in CT. $11-12 is common… and it is consistently delicious.

I’ve had Headway and enjoyed it a lot but I can’t get Counterweight anywhere near me at all.

Yeah if you can get it, Headway is a bargain, and it definitely scratches that NEIPA itch. Love NEBCO ipas as well, good bitterness and 12oz cans is a great format.

Crucial Mass from CW is on par with a lot of TH hazies (imo). It's one of the best shelf beers in CT and is always fresh. I would imagine it makes its way to RI and MA sometimes... probably not NY but maybe near the CT boarder.

I feel kind of spoiled rotten by Workhorse and Elm City Pilsner when it comes to my willingness to try other craft lagers, at least on store shelves. I'll make an exception for Tree House and places like Fox Farm on brewery visits and I can even understand that their price is closer to the norm these days if not slightly lower. But those CT beers kind of undermined my desire to pay for the likes of Threes, Grimm, Luppolo, and other breweries charging the prices @guinness77 refers to above.

The Counterweight beers are great and a great shelf beer. Dont overlook East Rock in New Haven their lagers are very good, widely available and also have good price points.

A friend picked up JM, Green, and Tree of Light for me today. Love when you get some TH unexpectedly.

Totally missed Nascent Truth on the menu! Would have def got it.

750ml Weller BA stout whéw! 600 bottle vintage, 200 per location? How many bottles do their regular 12oz BA releases yield?

They have coffee beans in the picture. Was there a coffee variant too? $28 isn't horrible for 750ml I guess, that's what CBS was costing for me on the shelves here

now thats a BIG BOY. not too sure how I feel about 750ml barrel pours though, definitely going to be a sharing bottle with 3+ people. 12oz is great to share with my gf, maybe 500ml.

also found a regular vanilla space and time in the fridge so it'll be great to drink side by side.

Usually I like my TH fresh as possible, but this latest batch of JM definitely needs a week or so to calm down. Overall everything has been on point though. I remember in 2018 when Charlton was still new, the batches were very inconsistent. So nice to have confidence now when you spend so much

3/14 batch of Green is just ridiculously good. A thick, dank, pineapple delight.

I enjoyed it as well, and put my money to my complaining about the absence of lights on and bought a case of it the other day.
