Like @Beersnake1, my target has also rated beers from over 20 countries.

My target also has more wants logged than I have.

Hint #1: I am shipping South and East.
#2: The nearest MLB team to my target is not in the same division as the Seattle Mariners.
3: I have physically been in my targets state of residence. (I have been to 29-1/2 states. the 1/2 depends on whether one counts just being in the airport changing planes as being in the state. I generally don't.)
4: My targets state touches a large body of water.
5: The body of water my targets state touches is neither the Gulf of Mexico nor the Rio Grande.
6: My target lives North of I-20 and East of I-35.
7: Sehome Hill in my city has an elevation of 620 feet. This is not as high as the highest point in my targets state, but it is higher than the lowest point in my targets state.
8: The Nooksack River is approximately 75 miles long. My targets state has rivers that are both longer and shorter than this.
9: A river in my targets state is the same approximate length as the Nooksack, but its average discharge, 487 cu/ft/sec, is dwarfed by the output of the Nooksack, 3814 cu/ft/sec.
10: The river mentioned in hint 9 is named for a color.

I should do a show-themed round of hints. You and I would laugh, and my target wouldn't figure anything out until boxes arrived on his or her porch.

Ehh, I ninja you boxes about every 0.75 rounds on average. Making you my official target would be redundant.

Hint #1: I’ve never sent beer to this person before, I’ll add to it…but I have driven through their state.
Hint #2: My target's state is larger by area than mine, but smaller in population.
Hint #3: I did my second beer trade on a phish message board for beer from my target's state. I may, or may not have, reviewed it on BA. I also traded with this person on BA, later on.
Hint #4: My target has not reviewed one of my top ten highest rated beers, perhaps after our yearly vacation I will be able to correct that.
Hint #5: My favorite band usually makes yearly stops in my targets home state, and has for quite some time.

    ***added detail to hint #2

This beer was sent to me courtesy of our friend Ozzylizard (tagging him is currently not available), from a LIF he had in NBW BIF #14. No one won the LIF, so he chose me, and I am so grateful. What a wonderful, generous beer nerd he is.

He also sent me this beer 4 years ago, right after we moved back to Northern Indiana from Texas, in NBS BIF 007. Actually, he sent it to me twice, because after I tried it and reviewed it (more on that in a bit), he sent me another 4-pack. Like I said, he’s a wonderful, generous beer nerd.

He sent me more because I absolutely LOVED this beer. Almost irrationally so (you wanna talk rDev - how about +2.0.4%). It ticked all my barleywine boxes, and it still does. Just a magnificent representation of the style, IMHO.

I’ve posted my review from 4 years ago down below, and I stand by it - unless I wanna tick it up a bit to a 4.50, because it is worthy of that rating, again IMHO.

PS: the glassware is courtesy of @BBThunderbolt - speaking of wonderful, generous beer nerds.

    4.42/5 rDev +20.4%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.5
    by ovaltine from Indiana

I am a notorious overrater because I love (most) all beers and all styles, but I’m usually within the random distribution deviation (5 or 6%) on most beers, but not on this (IMHO) glorious beer - I’m 20.4% above the BA rating for this, but that’s okay. This scratches my barleywine itch.

It pours a rich reddish-brown with a big ol’ bubbly tan head and nearly clear. Gorgeous beer. The nose has toffee and caramel notes - and a big fruity component. I am beyond intrigued.

The taste ..... stupendous, IMHO. There’s the significant malt notes with the toffee and caramel, but the fruit comes forward even more - beyond the stone fruit, I get cherry, and tart blueberry notes that mix really well with the malt flavors.

I only wish I had a 6er of this to age, because I think it would be even better with some whiskers.

I’m going geography here but it blows my mind how big Alaska is, seriously it’s like half the size of the US mainland. Crazy stuff, just like that moose that keeps running across my screen.

Per BA I've got 47. Most of those are from years ago, back when I used to go to Jim's Homebrew, which fairly recently closed. They used to stock all kinds of international beer. I've had beers from Ethiopia, Lebanon, Ukraine, the various Baltic states, and Russia that I purchased from there.

    Messin' around with data again...
It looks like some BIF member has entered a beer review every single day since September 24, 2013*.

2015-05-28* was our single most prolific day. 141 beer reviews / ratings entered.
That's a lot of beer in one day, @ovaltine! I assume you were transcribing from somewhere.

I feel like I should have a nice chart to share...so here's the averages of all BIF participants scores per style, with the standard deviation of those scores shown in red error bars.

*Do keep in mind the lesson learned in NBS BIF #14 about dates: You cannot trust BA dates.
