    Another week is in the bag here, Geelong v Sydney in round 2 of the Australian Football League is mere minutes away, and a Belgian beer has found its way into my glass. Is life good? You bet it is!

    Getting things wrapped and finished up for my daughter's birthday next week - I am driving down to Columbus tomorrow for an early celebration (lunch at Hoof Hearted - whoot whoot!)....she and her fiance are headed to Asheville for her 30th b-day celebration later next week!

    Just got back at the hotel after a full day. Page 24 and Pelforth breweries have joined force to create this Stout here. Quite bitter unlike some Stouts to be found in America. This is more comparable to Guinness or any Irish stouts really. Interesting stuff:

    I'm embarrassed to admit that, despite my affinity for German beers, this is the first time I've tried Augustiner Edelstoff. Holy cow. The first thing that struck me is how soft on the palate it is. It's missing that expected German pale lager bitterness but this is an export beer. I'm wondering if it has that on tap in country. Regardless, this is an excellent beer. You can drink these all day long with zero palate fatigue. Would love to have these in pint bottles or cans. Prost all!

    That right there is probably my favorite style of beer. Very versatile. Just a little hard to find pure well crafted ones. Enjoy!
