I gave up chasing whales years ago and now pretty much stick with local craft standards like Sierra Nevada, Stone, Bear Republic, Pizza Port, Trumer, etc. the slightly increased pricing I am seeing hasn't affected my drinking habit as yet.

I now have reliable local source for Moonlight's two most famous lagers which I will occasionally splurge for. $15 for a 4 pack of 16 oz cans has always seemed expensive to me. If the prices gets bumped up from there I'm unlikely to buy them.

Only thing I'm really seeing is gas (glad I bought a Tacoma vs Tundra years ago)... at my TW "hype" IPAs (i.e, Other Half, Aslin) were already getting hype prices.

Awhile back someone mentioned Pizza Port rotating hop series at TJs. I checked it out and lo and behold I have found a few very fresh offerings (around 2 weeks in the can). Can I get a hallelujah?

...I have an essentially golden situation: fully retired, military retirement, Social Security income, house paid for, cars paid for, no kids (except Rocket the Wonder Dog), credit cards and insurance paid off - plus (believe it or not, I don't drink as much beer as I used to)...I'll pretty much buy any adult beverage I want...

...my beer budget, if anything, has only improved with age (like a great lambic or barrel aged imperial ale)...

Interesting point on the poll thus far 3 of 4 people say inflation has not impacted purchases.

Yes, Lord Chesterfield is still made. A couple of weeks ago I was eyeing up a 12-pack of cans but that was more than I wanted to buy at the time.

In 2015 I started a thread entitled "No love for American Adjunct Lagers" and selected Yuengling Lord Chesterfield as my beer for discussion:

    Overall:
Within the context of an AAL beer this beer is a joy to drink. The highlights are the hop aroma and nice head retention. If you are looking for a nice thirst quenching beer (like I was yesterday after an 8 mile hike) this beer certainly does the ‘trick’.

    Per...?

I hedge at six-packs running over $11. Fortunately I'm seeing good stuff in that range and many 12-packs at good prices. Can still get Trumer at $13 a 12-pack.

5k would be a good beer budget in a good year.

I still spend about the same but I don't have any fear of missing out on any beer that is priced north of $20 a 4 pack.

I used to watch the shelves rot and think to myself damn that's a few hundred dollars of regional brew going to waste.

Now it's whoa that's a few thousand in turding, expensive sought after IPAs.

The cost of beer itself has impacted which beers I will purchase. If Suicide Squeeze is $12/6 pack and Vicious Mosquito is $9/6 pack, I'll get the VM. In that sense my budget hasn't been impacted. BUT... as the cost of food, gas, utilities increases, and my paycheck doesn't, I am probably going to lean more into brewing my own over buying commercial. Inflation on brewing ingredients won't hit me too hard as I have a large stash of hops already, and reuse yeast. Already having to make decisions about beer club memberships and such. May have to drink only 1-2 pints when we go out to dinner instead of 2-3... if we will even be able to afford going out to dinner anymore.

As of today, inflation hasn't impacted my beer choices or the amount of beer I purchase. The only inflation I do worry about is my ever-increasing waist band.

“Yes.” As in, yes, my beer budget has increased, while beer purchasing habits are essentially unchanged. My total beer volume and cost ratio is fairly low, compared to other expenditures. Maybe this is an outliers input. My MO is to balance cost (in whatever form) with utility.

I am a beer salesmen so even when I absolutely don't need beer I still find myself spending a ton of money on beer, package or draft. Inflation has just made me more broke.

Hallelujah! TJs always has a new hop release and they are always fresh. The only downside is they sit on a warm shelf. But since they are fresh I haven’t found it impacting the beers. Swamis is always around that two week mark and my location I can ask the for a six pack from the back, which is their refrigerator. It’s only $11.99 too.

    can I get an amen?

Pizza Port does 6 X 16oz packaging. I actually have a receipt from a recent purchase at TJ's, $14.04 for a six pack of tall boys before tax and CA redemption which is a bargain in these parts.

pizza port only packages 16oz cans and sold in 6 packs. Even their imperial coffee porter bacon and eggs is 6 x 16ozs.

A-men! I never thought to ask as I didn't know TJs refrigerates beers before they hit the shelves.
