    Also gotta throw these in:
Bear Republic Racer X (best IIPA available to us IMO. big citrus flavors kinda like what OP wants), Lagunitas Maximus, and Brooklyn Blast. Not so regularly available for these three though. And maybe Lagunitas Sucks if they do end up making it again.

Racer X isn't sold in TX. Racer 5 is though.

I think Maximus is one of Lagunitas worst.

Blast is yummy, but no typical IPA.

And yes, resin is more of a hop thing. Citrus and Pine.

The nutty is probably the malt backbone you taste.

DIPAs tend to get the high ABV by balancing the absurd amount of hops with more malt.

Ah ok. Yeah, that seems to be my favorite part.

I'll second that SS ProAm 2012. They have to brew that one again.

TopGolf? How was it? And how was the overall beer selection? I'm going to check it out next week. My office is in the pic.

In that case (malt backbone), it's hard to go wrong with DFH 90 min.

I've had it, it seems to be more sweet than nutty to me though.

Man it's fun, cool spot to just hang even if you're not golfing. Nice tap selection down stairs and at patio bar on 3rd level. Clown is only $4.25 on draught, too

Malt can add both sweet and nutty. Depends on the malt used as to what will shine through most.

I can say though, that I've never thought of a DIPA as nutty. It may be there, but it's never stood out to me, and I've never tried to find it on the palate.

I'm pretty sure Dogfish Head uses Maris Otter (British Pale Malt) for their IPA's which definitely has a nutty flavor. However, all of the Crystal malt and hops keep it more in the background of DFH 90.

Actually Racer X has been tapped in Houston/Dallas/Austin on several occasions and of course, it's one of those kegs that'll blow through quickly. Hasn't been around in at least a year unfortunately.

I can't remember where but I think it's coming back in bottles as well as kegs.

I was talking a bit wider footprint. Bottles perhaps.

I did hear they got label approval for it.

well racer x is a once a year release in october i think. got sent one right after release a while back as part of a trade.

if we don't see bottles now, it's not like you'd want to find them in january. maybe itll show up in 2013.

This is almost always the must attend event of the holiday season. :grinning:

Last year the bottle share was insane. I'm sure it'll be way bigger now.
